It was at Killie and we took about 600 in a crowd of just over 4 000 so be interested to know what there split was.But wouldn't be surprised if away support dwindles quicker as they know they are down and will be lucky to win another two games between now and end of season

Talking of crowds I notice that Aberdeen only attracted 10,600. I know it was only Dumbarton but the hype Aberdeen are getting surely merits a better turn out?

Not surprised. Arrogant ****wits who deserted their team over the last few seasons.

Last time I was in the Nou Camp(November last year) there were over 25,000 empty seats- 75% full for a team full of world super stars. At the same time we were achieving roughly 50% capacity for watching a dismal Hibs team(in the production line of dismal Hibs teams of recent years). With this in mind surely our attendance is 'better' than Barça??

Managing to take 40,000 to next weeks cup final and could have sold more according to the club.

Can't really laugh at them, more killie for a woeful home support. Can't really blame them for not travelling either, absolutely brutal team and it's not cheap to travel to away games.

I'll happily laugh at their home crowds when they're bad, like 6000 hearts fans at the 0-7 v celtic at tynecastle this season. But you can't pick up on crowds at away games, especially when the team they are playing has a howling home support.

I'd imagine the point the OP is making is based on the fact that they always claim to be The Big Team and are obsessed with the size of their crowds. We make no such ridiculous claims.

When they start discussing crowd size, I always get this mental image of someone crowing about being the tallest in a room full of dwarves.

How do Kilmarnock's home crowds compare to the population of that town? Might not be "howling" after all.

Managing to take 40,000 to next weeks cup final and could have sold more according to the club.

We took over 40,000 in 91 and 37,000 in 2004 when we were not very good so no surprise they have sold 40,000. The 10,600 is a worrying one though for high flying Aberdeen and shows we can't take supporters for granted. Certainly the dons gamble of spending a wee bit extra on players has worked this season but we've been here before when calderwood got them to the last 32 of the uefa cup and the they soon started shipping money. Next season is the acid test for them as it is for us and the Arabs. Things could look very different in a few months and as we have seen with the curse of finishing third as it was and the curse in finishing second as it is now let's just wait and see.
The fact butcher didn't try to sign Rooney long term clearly means he has players in mind. He fully realises the job he has now so let's wait and see what's happens.

Dinae believe anything the BBC tell you. When reporting on marches and the like, you can usually take their figure and double it for the correct amount.

About 45000, 14th most populated area in Scotland.

Makes my point for me.

Kilmarnock still managed over 3000 fans for a foregone conclusion against a pub team. Edinburgh (ignoring the Lothians) has ten times the population split between two teams, so Hibs would need to get over 15000 fans for a similar gate.

We are talking a team that has a stadium with a capacity of over 18,000 though, the 4th biggest in the SPL, bear that in mind.

Kilmarnock needed that for games against the Ugly Sisters. Unfortunately for them, most of the visiting fans live locally.

I get your point, most people in places like Kilmarnock do follow the Ugly Sisters, but there is no doubt that crowds of 3k in a 18k seater stadium is howling.

My original point was more that you can't laugh at teams for attendances away from home.
