How hard is it to take a corner, seriously. I can take better corners.

They say smoking and drinking is bad for your health, I say supporting Hibs is worse.

it really is just too much to ask our defence just to stop gifting goals away, doesn't matter how many goals we score our defensive play always helps to balance things up....dear Mr Butcher, can you plzzzzzzzz build this team from the back starting this summer

I want to see who Vigurs punked on his way into the box. Nice play but it was like he went round police cones.

Sore one but that's football. Onwards and upwards, plenty to take from that result along with the negatives - which we all knew about anyway.

Awful in the first half, full of effort and purpose in the second. Heffernan must start games.

When we had corners, we should have been wasting as much time as possible. Heck, every other team does it against us. So why can't we?

At 2-0 down after 40 minutes you'rw right but it's tough to take after the comeback and the fact the equaliser was preventable.

It's obviously disappointing to draw in that manner but a point is still a good result against a team 4 places above us in the table and who many had us down to get hammered by. Considering we were 0-2 down within the first half an hour I'm happy with a draw, looking at the bigger picture if we had been the ones to score a last minute equaliser then there wouldn't be any complaining, the result is the same and it's better than getting beat, which was a real possibility today.

A point isn't that bad
If we had scraped back from 3-0 down and gotten a point then yes, it's not that bad. The fact we led and came back then got pegged back again is the **** part.
Motherwell will be kicking themselves too, having led 2-0 and only taking a point.

Not the worst result given that we were 2-0 down, and its another point on the board.
The defence need to have a look at themselves though. Week in, week out they are costing us points with ridiculous goals that we just shouldnt be conceding.

Fair to say both teams will proabably be disappointed at only getting a point :agree:

Was a great game today hibs played some great football and cairney was a real threat. Sore one with the goal at the end but I would if bit your hand off for the point! We looked dangerous with the ball and hopefully can build on that second half performance on Wednesday!

Our defence outdid itself with their injury time 3rd. Absolute comedy. What a great defender like Butcher makes of that I'd love to know. Hibs fully deserved to win the match and should have scored 5 or 6. Think Well had 3 shots on target.

I expected a Hibs win today, and we didn't get it due to some sloppy defending and poor finishing. So a bitterly disappointing result for Bobby here.
On the upside I was BLOODY ENTERTAINED and I'm struggling to remember the last time that happened to me at ER.

Yes, Cairney can exasperate, but he's a menace and defenders hate playing against him.

Really enjoyed the game today. A draw was fair I think. Done great to come back from 0-2 down. I don't think we done enough to merit a win though. Well at times played good football. Our defence was poor today and we need to sort that.
Overall good game and left feeling pretty happy as we didn't give up and that's all I want is for us to battle as I said in other posts. Not just giving up if we lose a goal. So well done Hibs let's try push on from that.
Well are a good side and I expect us to take 3 points from the likes of Partick, Saints, County, and dare I say it Hearts. Onwards and upwards!!

Entertaining game that I thought we deserved to win. Although the defense were poor at the goals we did limit Motherwell to a handful of shots. The equaliser was a shocker and I wish we would mark the thrower. The whole problem started with Handling being up against both his man and the thrower and that let them get into the box. Criminal game sense when you are leading with a few minutes to go. We got a bit excited and tried to go for a fourth goal when all we should have been doing is keeping the ball. Butcher needs to have a think about the formation as we looked so much more balanced with 2 up top.
I wonder what all the uber happy clappy fans will say as I thought the boo when Craig played a terrible free kick straight out of play actually got the players to buck up their ideas and we went on to play some decent stuff thereafter
My favourite bit of today was the Hibees chant from the area of the former North Stand. Nice to hear.

New year derby !
How no one booted the ball out of our box before they scored their 3rd ill never no . Ffs i could have ran down from row z in the east and cleared it .
Second half was great tho . Heff took his goal well . Plenty possitives 2nd half .

Had a small punt on Hibs at half time, 8/1 in the stadium. Not the end of the world but that last minute goal has left me gutted. The winnings would have covered today's other losses and paid the travel and entry for Wednesday's trip to Inverness. What were the the Hibs players doing at their third goal, why didn't at least one of the two outside the box just kick him?

We started well - took the game to MWell 10 mins then lost a goal - cross from right about McManus passes wide - far too easily.
Next 10 mins was poor from both teams then we started playing better and then a bit of quality from the Motherwell striker (megged Nelson I think) and it's 2v0.
Till before we scored we were pretty average.
We do however look dangerous at every corner now - something we never used to for the last few years.
Didn't think our 2nd goal looked in.
3rd goal was a great break and finish.
Wasn't completely surprised they equalised near the end - again came from the right and we did well to scramble the 1st few attempts away but then Sutton put it away.
Stanton worked tirelessly - I actually thought Collins did ok - not MOM but not as bad as everyone is making out - linked well and never stopped running - but not many attempts on goal!
Haynes was off today - 1st touch etc.
Cairney played well 2nd half but 1st half was rarely involved.
Forster - improved 2nd half but gave the ball more than normal today- for a 20 year playing out of position we need him at CH and to find a RB who is better at 1v1 defending!
We actually played some ok football at times today but still several players away from a 2nd/3rd challenge - a real leader and midfielder to help Stanton.
Next 4 games are going to be interesting and very tough!

We still lack creativity and good dribblers - Stanton has added to that but when Cairney runs at players and links in with others we certainly are more dangerous attacking.

Cracking finish from heffernan from what was quite an entertaining game. What did everyone think about Stanton being flattened in the first 10 minutes and the ref did nothing?

Forgot about that!
Wasn't sure if it was a hard but fair challenge or a stonewall penalty! He bounced back up pretty quickly.
Does everyone think the 2nd goal was over the line ?

From the West looked like he was clothes-lined by the defender and just inside the box. Wasn't Hutchinson again by any chance?

It looked outside the box from the East but a definite foul.
The goal didn't look over but again that's from the middle of the East stand!

Looked like a wrestling move to me, pen and sending off IMO. no idea if our 2nd was over the line as I sit down the other end

With that LG goal against the yams that was over the line and not given we were due one!
The assistant ran pretty quickly back to the middle plus not many protests from Well players for the 2nd.
The Stanton challenge was in the box.

To me it looked like an accidental clash between two players concentrating on the ball. A replay might prove me wrong, but that was my impression at the time.

Aye, it was annoying to concede an equalizer so late, but that was real entertainment. At 0-2 I was raging again, at 3-2 the adrenalin was pumping. For too long Hibs have failed to excite the crowd, but today was my idea of a Hibs game: lots of goals and totally unpredictable. The team displayed character in coming back, which is always the most important thing for me. The players fought the jersey second half.

2nd was a foot over the line before it was cleared, I was behind were the lineman was standing and it was clearly over. Glad the linesman started running back to the halfway line cause I don't think the ref was gonna give it.

I don't disagree but that doesn't mean it wasn't a foul. It was reckless and endangered Stanton, a clear foul.
Another awful ref, his main focus seemed to be ensuring we took free kicks from the exact spot the foul occurred, slowed the game down constantly.
McFadden should also have been booked for pulling Williams arm stopping him releasing a ball quickly. Where is the consistency with these muppets?!

I see where you're coming from but there was minimal contact exaggerated by Williams, have seen it done dozen of times and would rather no yellow cards for petty little instances like this.

This although he could a lot better .Often doesn't pass when should and ends up getting tackled and opposition go on counter attack. But agree Lewis is more likely to charge forward then stop and pass sideways or pass back ,and Craig is too deep and off form .

Agreed about Cairney - final goal was a good example when to pass the ball to a team mate. Commit them and then pass - he often passes too early. When he plays well though we are a different team.
