Hi, I'm interested in hearing people's experiences of using the phone app to buy bus tickets. It seems like a good way to avoid that morning panic looking for change.

I just wonder how easy it is for the driver to accept the tickets.

Havent used it myself, but do plan to. Have seen it used a lot now and looks very simple, I haven't seen a single problem with it so far.:agree:

What could be easier........................than using a bus pass, if you're looking for change every morning.

Only travel three days a week.

How do you pay for the tickets? Is it charged to your iTunes account or do you need to add a credit card to the app?

I use it and thinks its great. Point to note is minimum spend is £10 and you have to use the tickets within 3 months. Very handy if you cannot justify a bus pass and no need to always try and find the exact change. Very easy to use as well.

You register a debit card and use that to purchase tickets.

Why a minimum spend of £10?

Suspect there would be a charge by the card provider if it was less than that.

I've been using it from day one and think it's excellent. working away a bus pass is no use for me but i'm on and of a bus 2 or 3 times a week. I've been after LRT for ages to bring something similar to London's oyster card. This does the trick for me.

Tried to get the app, but I don't have the right version of Android. I've opted for the alternative of ordering scratch card day tickets, and getting them sent by post. I think the phone thing is a bit of a gimmick.

Dead Easy........ If it stops!

I was catching the last 33 a few weeks ago and it drove right past me :-( (You "enable" your ticket a few minutes prior to the bus arriving).... Long bloody walk home.

It would be good if the app could let the driver know you are at the stop. While they're at it the could build in a function to tell the driver you want off the bus. That would save 16 different people from thinking they have to press the bell at the same time.
