Disgrace the way some clubs are treating the cup(and fans-less than 17000 at Sunderland yerstyerday) When you think after today the only superpowers left will be Man City and Arse or Liverpool

high Kevin's during the week on the radio predicted less than 20 ,000 as there season is in effect over as they are so far ahead in the league The Celtic are missing Rangers ,the only team capable of challenging them and keeping things interesting was raised. think they are worried they can't attract the calibre of players they need to do well in champions league and are panicking in case they don't make group stage next season .

Indeed. He's been putting chances like those away all season.

Surprised he's not taken one.

Stonewall penalty there. Shocking decision from Webb

I'd love to hear Webb's explanation as to why he didn't give that penalty, he was the closest person to it with the best view in the stadium.

Exactly. Anywhere else on the park and it's a foul, maybe even a booking

That's more of a pen than the first one IMHO..

He was also only yards away at Stamford Bridge when Etoo assaulted Suarez. No penalty then either.

His treatment of Liverpool is getting Thomson-esque!

Think refs are just guessing wildly now with Suarez's theatrics. For me, Webb guessed wrong both times today.

'puddle must have a decent chance of winning the EPL now. No distractions, only four points off the top and Chelsea and City still to visit Anfield. Definitely a four-horse race.

I reckon he must have been distracted by Suarez's spot of break-dancing when he got brought down. That was funny and wouldn't have been out of place on Britain's Got Talent.

If his vision was impaired you might have a point however he was looking straight at the stonewaller he never gave so no need to guess at all.

Both were penalties with the 2nd an absolute stick on. Webb's bottle crashed big time.

:agree: 2nd was as clear a penalty as you get and Webb has some explaining to do. Knew there was going to be controversy when commentators explained at the start that LFC had lost the last 6 games Webb has been charge of :cb

Sky Sports News should be interesting today. Usually at 10am on a monday they have Dermot Gallagher (ex ref) and an ex pro on to disect weekends big talking points. Most of the time DG backs the ref so be interesting to see his "spin" this morning.

Not sure if the match was fixed from the start as you suggest, but it was strange that Gerrard didn't seem to celebrate his goal at all. Did he already know that the 'puddle weren't going to be allowed to win?
