What a fantastic day we had today.

The Hibernian team from the receptionist to the chef should take a bow.

If you want something special for the lad or lass in your life then get your loved one booked on this "Special Day".

From the minute we arrived at the ground, we were treated as VVVIP's

We decided to book this for our Grandson's Birthday treat and he was speaking about it for weeks prior to the date. He couldn't wait to play on the hallowed turf(and he left with plenty of it on his strip).

We arrived and were greeted warmly by plenty of Hibernian staff that would make our day so so special.

We embarked on a coach at 10 am to the Hibernian Training Centre for a look around, and then a Training session with a couple of the Coaches. The lads and lassies were given a good session with plenty of drinks to keep them hydrated. Lots of photos and tired out players later, we embarked on the coach again back to the Holy Ground.

On our arrival at the ground we were taken through to the dressing rooms, but on the way there we passed the managers suite and the door was open, needless to say when the bairns seen Big Tel and Mo watching the TV, they barged in and got some photos taken (Terry, Mo and Steve took it in their stride). Off out to the tunnel and the dug outs for more photos before going up to the Captains Lounge for some Lunch.

After Lunch, Liam Craig popped in to see the bairns for a photo and signing session.

Everyone was well fed, and we then had a visit by Tom Wright to take the kids through some History of the club. A great question and answer session was had with the bairns chipping in all throughout. Best bit for me was when Tom brought out a cap which Lawrie Reilly had won when playing for Scotland.

He asked the bairns, What's this? (showing off the cap)...It's a hat...No it's not, It's a cap...What's a cap for, asks Tom...

And a few of the bairns pipe up.....................Keeping your heid warm.

We then had a quick quiz all about Hibs and the bairns then left up to form a Guard of Honour for the players coming onto the pitch.

They then joined us up in the comfy seats in the west, supporting the team.

5 minutes before half time they were escorted down to the tunnel in preparation for the half time matches on the pitch which they all thoroughly enjoyed.

Back up for the second half to see a Hibs Victory.

We then all went back down to the Captains Lounge to get some Pizza/Pies/Cakes and Juice. The chef even popped in to check we had enough food and went out of his way to ensure more sandwiches and crisps were delivered to the kids. We then awaited the arrival of some players. They were not disappointed as we had Jordan Forster, Michael Nelson, Paul Hanlon, Sam Stanton, and Man of the Match Lewis Stevenson. Some of the lads had already seen Danny Handling, Ryan McGivern, and Alan Maybury in the pre match walk about.

The players could not have been better with the kids, and every one of them ensured photos and signings were done with a smile.

It was only left for the Manager to turn up and give the kids a presentation certificate of their day Walking In their Heroes Footsteps.

The Hibernian staff could not have done anything more for us today. From our Welcome to when we left, we were treated as if the bairns were the football players they aspire to be.

What a wonderful day...And we won.

Too many people to mention but only to say that you all played your part in a wonderful day in the life of a five year old.

Thank you Hibs.

I'll second that. Was going to post something similar but couldn't be bothered firing up the laptop to do it tonight. I think the club were magnificent from start to finish. The wee fella has been talking about it non stop since we left and is itching to tell all his mates. Had an absolutely fantastic day personally and all the kids there seemed to have a great time too!

In these somewhat tricky times, the club have done themselves proud with this initiative and deserve some well earned praise!

Couldn't agree more...my son has been to hospitality a couple of times with me but from a kids point of view a truly memorable hibs experience that has outdone all others for my boy... he left Easter Road today on cloud nine...

P.s. I also loved the bit when Tom showed the youngsters Sauzee's old top then he brought out a small box... one of the kids thought it had Sauzees teeth in it!! Priceless... (it had a medal in it...😆)
Well done all concerned, Sue, Brian, Tom etc etc

And Mimi from hospitality you said this was your last game at ER as you are leaving...all the very best for the future.

And I'll third (or is it fourth?) that. I could see it far enough after last week but my two had a great day, my youngest in particular who took a ball in the face during the mini game and didn't flinch! The game at East Mains at the end was hilarious, a mix of ages from 5 to 12 and they just got on with it and really enjoyed it.

Top marks to the staff and the players, the historian and the gaffer. I would highly recommend it.
