You may have already seen that Leith Links have sponsored Duncan Watmore's boots for the remainder of the season. I just wanted to clarify that none of the funds donated for the purpose of purchasing additional Kicks for Kids season tickets have been used in this way. My brother, who is the President of the Australian Hibs Supporters Association, generously donated a sum of money and we decided to 'speculate to accumulate' and therefore use the money to promote Leith Links.

The thinking behind it is that we will hopefully be able to auction Duncan's boots at the end of the season and, if he continues to play as well as he did last Saturday, a fair sum of money could be raised. There is also the matter of 2 tickets to the Sponsors evening that could possibly be used to generate income too.

Due to the sponsorship, we will also receive promotion via the Hibernian F. C. website and in the matchday programme, whilst also appearing on the Hibs facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/HibernianFootballClubOfficial

If anyone has any queries or issues, then please feel free to PM or email me (leithlinks@live.co.uk). I just wanted to be upfront about this and not cause any concerns amongst those generous Hibbies who have donated so far. GGTTH.

Due to very generous donation, Leith Links (www.leithlinks4kids (http://www.leithlinks4kids)) who have become the boot sponsors of Duncan Watmore for the remainder of the season.

We are delighted that such a fantastic cause have decided to go ahead and sponsor Duncan's boots with this donation and that we can showcase the selfless work the fund achieves each year.

www.leithlinks4kids set up the fund in June of last year to raise funds so more children could benefit from Kicks for Kids tickets. To date, they have raised over £3,300 and purchased 22 tickets Kicks for Kids season tickets. They are split between the Multi Cultural Family Base, Maggies Centre, Richmonds Hope, the Pentland Community Centre, the Canongate Youth Project, Bingham Community Centre, St Ninians Youth Club and Kids In Care. Hibs fans have donated very generously since the fund was set up and have even attracted famous Hibee fans like Irvine Welsh and Jimmy Boco.

Good one Suzy. You have a very generous brother.

I think anyone who knows the work you've put into LL would know that you would never use any of the money donated for anything other than it's intended purpose.
There are so many generous people out these giving LL money for tickets, but also for other expenses that you can use to help the cause.
Hope the exposure through sponsorship brings you some really good publicity.

Thanks C :aok: I hope that people will understand but I felt it was important to clarify the issue, just in case anyone wondered where the money was coming from. Yes, my big bro' is a good sort. Well, he is a Hibby after all :agree:

Makes great sense to me and if those folk on the threads are serious about not renewing their season ticket next season they should at least donate to this cause ,so that someone who can't afford or wouldn't normally get the opportunity to come and see Hibs play gets this chance .
