My sat nav hates me. She sends me up one way streets and tries to get me to right at no right turns. Anyone have these sat nav problems or have i just got a rotten sat nav?

Have you updated the software? Sometimes these things sit in warehouses for years before being used and the maps are out of date.

Bought it second hand.must be where the problem is. Doesn't say it needs updating though, only speed camaras need updated but i'm not too bothered about that.

Aberdeen with garmin was a nightmare apparently the granite messes it up - thankfully (or not) I know aberdeen and was crossing union st to get to union sq and ended up down windmill lane iirc and that's got streets above it and it just went nuts hard to quite explain what happened it was jumping around all over the shop.

btw Cumbernauld rd in Glasgow goes through Townhead and Stepps - no problem - well so you'd think but they've only gone and restarted the numbering at some point so you guessed t there are two 212 Cumbernauld road addresses (and I took the wrong one walking in the bad snow a couple of years ago not satnav but googlemaps on phone). Moral of story get the postcode. It's a bit more reliable.

I use Google maps on my nexus phone-free updates every couple of weeks . Far better than the nav man I used to use.

I can appreciate that it might be different if I needed one for work, but I am very much a member of the anti-satnav resistance. It is evil. It's not an anagram of v. Satan for nothing. Give me an old-fashioned map any day of the week. Curse progress!

Been using one for the last couple of days down in Grimsby and it's been a godsend! Would have been buggered without it.

They're a big problem in my work, basically field engineers, the 'younger' guys use them all the time, to the point where they know where nothing is unless 'Tom' tells them where it is. Not so good when you are driving to railway locations that are 'off grid'. Sat nav will never beat local knowledge!

I'll take this opportunity to agree with you GL. I find the voicing on these sinister too. There's definitely something 'Dark Star' about them.
