I'm with Orange, unlimited texts, 200 chatty minutes and 750mb data on 3G.

Got a call from them the other day offering an up grade to 4G, unlimited texts, unlimited chatty minutes and 500mb of data.

I don't use all my data anyway as I'm never far away from a wifi hotspot.

Nothing else chages, cost, contract length.

Whats the catch I asked.

There's none. Orange want all their customers on 4G by the end of the year.

When I renewed my contract just 3 months ago a contract like this would have been £5 or £10 more. So.

If you want 4G but only want to pay for 3G get your 3G on Orange with a few more MBs than you want and in a couple of months Bobs your auntie!!!

Unlimited chatty minutes!!! If only I had a friend to talk to :'(

You spoke to a salesman didn't you ;)

I cannot use my phone (you know the thing to actually receive and make calls not surf) at home as it's in a blackspot for EE after a long story to get to the end of involving engineer phone calls, replacement handset (a refurb IPhone5 when I got a spanking new one).

Tmobile + Orange don't equal EE as I had no problems with orange before. switching to EE I had more dropped calls than I've ever had with Orange. I also confirmed with an engineer that EE is a different network I said I thought it could only be better so was disappointed to find out it wasn't.

Now it maybe I was unfortunate but I'm only a hop skip and jump from the mast at ER - the railway line apparently is a factor (never was with Orange) but even then it's still a bit away from me. At one stage I was advised to switch off 4g so I could receive calls (apparently calls are handled on 3G so when u receive on your phone switches anyways) how ridiculous 4g is supposed to be "always on".

4g signal is patchy (which they don't tell you) fair enough you think but Prince's Street Gardens? To cap it all there I was sitting in ER where the blummin mast is and I couldn't get a signal at all (either 3 or 4G)

So buyer beware I'd suggest. Apparently I may have the wrong phone (IPhone5 FFS!)

Look up online for more info as I'm not the only one.

So so the answer is for me spend less time at home ;)

I did get the option of cancelling or a line discount. So if your in that pickle push for what you're entitled but check things all out before 14 days of purchase and raise any issues with EE and get references as it could get messy.

Btw watchout for wifi hotspots as they're not secure (says he on a Scotrail wifi!) I'd keep away from sensitive stuff like internet banking, amazon etc.

Cheers VivaPalmeiras I was suspecting a post like this and will ensure my 14 days is used to good effect :-)

Not sure a Samsung Galaxy S4 will make a difference.

As a side note I upgraded to Vodafone 4g when it launched and it's amazing

Super fast to the point I don't use my wifi in the House cause I have 6gb of data and I reckon it's improved my overall signal
