View Full Version : Genuine Play Off Concerns??

Just wondered if this has crossed people's minds as a genuine concern?

We are still shy in creating clear cut chances, low goal scoring record, we have injury concerns at the back, a game ahead of those below us and our next games are against Celtic, Ross County, Kilmarnock and Partick (with Dundee Utd in between). If results don't go our way we could be in a bit of a fight!!

I feel it'll take a wee run of a few good results and that concern will be put to bed altogether but next few weeks are important and we can all certainly play our part at ER especially!!

I will bite,. genuine response . We won't be in play offs end of Get the Celtic game out the way some new signings , Harris and Heff back on form ,Cummings to start finding the net, preferred back four back playing as a unit and not giving a lot away.Hard to see how we would slip to second bottom as some of those teams you mention plus st mirren won't win all there games iether

Not convinced I am but we need 2 or 3 wins in the next few weeks to get a bit of momentum going again!!

Eight points in it which is not a lot but the saving grace might be the fact that everyone is beating each other, a win last Saturday would have made life a lot easier.

Hasn't even crossed my mind, looking up not down.

No chance we'll be anywhere near the play off place.

Short answer: no

Long answer: not a hope in hell.

Yes genuine concerns. I'm always concerned when Hibs don't add to the pool and make do with what they've got.

Two or three injuries to key men and I'll worry more.

We're eight points ahead of Thistle. Not a lot.

No, think that due to us playing celtic on Sunday and then not playing next week it might look a bit worrying but after the raith game we've got a run of league games where we play those teams below us, and as long as we don't play like we did on Saturday every week, we'll most if not all of those games

Well Chump

We are only four points behind St Johnstone and six behind Dundee Utd a great chance to pick up some points after the Celtic game and who says we aren't goona pick up something there.

No chance we will be in the play offs. We aren't very good but we have done enough.
Even with a bad bit of form we will pick up at least 6 points before the split. PARTICK won't earn 14 points between now and the split.

its shocking that we are in this position again .

Yes, with 1 win in 10 Partick Thistle are definitely showing a level of form that suggests they're well capable of winning 3 more games than us

I wouldn't completely dismiss the possibility but I don't think we'll finish 11th.

From where we are at the moment, it would be a huge disappointment if we're anywhere near the play-off place.

Not this season, but in future seasons it could be a big problem for us. We don't seem to sustain any long term stability as far as the footballs concerned.

We've had too many close shaves with relegation in the past. The play offs will take us even closer.

Doesn't bear thinking about. Put it this way, Hibs getting relegated along with the Yams would be the ultimate indignity.

Couple of bad results after a good eight or nine game run and the optimists amongst us are out in force once again.

Gies peace.
"Could" is the key word.
We could equally have a run of consistent top 6 finishes, cup runs and the occasional European night, but no. "Could" leads to a seeming inevitability of "will" in your world.
Stop worrying.

What do you think about Hearts chump? Yet to reach zero points of course and actually in a worse position than August, but with the talent they've got and such a plucky young manager they must be in with a chance right?
