That's Leith, North Dakota.

A 'town' of 20 nearly overrun with neo Nazis

This got me thinking, has anyone visited any other Leith's around the world?

Just to carry on from that story, it turns out Cobb is 14% African-American and now his Nazi pals won't talk to him.

I think Cobb is on to something here.

A town for the neo-Nazis to do what they like. Maybe one for the Islamic extremists, one for the homophobes, one for those with sectarian leanings, one for the sexists, one for Hearts supporters etc etc.

They can all live in little secluded communities as they see fit and leave those of us with a bit respect and acceptance of those different from us to get on with things.

Slight tangent here but i met a girl called leith in christchurch New Zealand, she sold my wife a set of skis and said her father was from Edinburgh. I think she meant Leith though :greengrin

Not a Leith itself, but I have been to Dunedin which has a Leith River in it. Much cleaner than its Scottish counterpart (at the Leith end, at least).

I take it that even though it's only a letter away, Keith doesn't count?

Leiths school of food and wine

http://www.leiths.com/

i've heard this place getting quite a few mentions on different shows on the tellybox the last 12 months

saw some product of theirs on a tesco shelf just before xmas, and from that link i notice they've opened up a school in Notting Hill in Londinium 'Leiths Portobello' :hmmm: wonder if there's a Scottish interest in whoever started it

It's Asda they have a tie-in deal with. I just bought my other half some dried fruit crap and it has "specially selected by Leith's" on it. A lot of their other high-end stuff has the same seal of approval.

Maybe they did take their name from where they originally started off or maybe it's someone's surname. There is a portobello in notting hill so maybe that's just a coincidence.

Leiths was founded by Prue Leith, South African/English I think. She's a judge on a TV show I'm sure. And Portobello is an area in Notting Hill. Unlikely there's a Scottish connection.

Both are named after the naval victory at Portobello during the Napoleonic Wars.
