Seen a few people posting that Harris has signed a new deal. Is this just speculation or can someone confirm that he has and it's just a matter of time till it's announced? Don't think just because he has had his photo taken today that there will be big news to come as it probably is just him talking about being back in the 1st team after being out

TB said before the Aberdeen game he was hopeful he'd sign this week.

Am sure someone posted earlier that he had signed a new contract but should of known better Just another rumour May e the thread of Terry butcher and caption competition is him telling the Media that Alex is a baw Hair fae signing a new contact but Rod is holding out and it would only take this wee amount to get the deal over the line .

Have not seen anything from an official source. Suspect those saying he's signed are just hoping it's true

Harris said on Twitter earlier that the picture of him at HTC in front of the cameras was just for a media shoot and nothing to do with a new contract, however Terry did say that they were determined to sit him down and get him signed up as he is an exciting talent. Hopefully this means an announcement won't be too far away. :aok:

When that picture was doing the rounds on twitter earlier someone asked him if he had signed a new deal on twitter and he said not yet...

Butcher hasn't seen a lot of him so when he gets more game time am sure that will focus butchers mind on getting that one done .

He said in a BT Sport interview that he would be addressing Alex Harris's contractual situation this week but he didn't expand on that.

TB would be well aware of Alex Harris prior to coming to Hibs and having seen him in training and spoke to the boy will know very clearly whether he wants to get him signed up or not. I think the hold up will simply be down to money agents assessment versus Hibs assessment of how much the boy should get and I doubt given his age that the parties will be too far apart.

I think I read that his mum's acting as his agent? Hopefully something will happen soon.

I posted this on another thread before Christmas but I'll say again...I was in the Clubhouse before the St J game(21st Dec). Butcher and Harris came in to speak to us. The previous night, Terry, Alex, his mum and his god father had been sitting going over a new deal. Both agreed that it would hopefully be signed soon. Terry joked that it was a 20 year contract that he'd be getting him to sign. He also said he was extremely impressed with young Alex, even when he was still at ICT and that watching him in training was exciting and that he couldn't wait for him to be back fit.

I'd give him a 3 + 1 + 1 year contract.

Or is that my boring procurement mind talking, is this even possible in footballing circles? :greengrin

A mate of mine is involved in the first team squad and he told me that Harris has signed a new deal. Unsure why its not been announced yet.

Echoes of Duncan Ferguson's contract with DU there, wonder if TB is offering the same sort of dosh as Jim McLean gave big Duncan :greengrin

Hope a Doocot is included

Mentioned in here he will get a deal http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl/terry-butcher-no-big-spender-as-he-hails-harris-1-3271233
A good piece by TB regarding transfers as well.

Harris is exactly the type of player TB wants an attacking winger, of course he knew all about him before he came, he's a football man, i'll be cock a hoop if he does sign a 3 or 4 year deal

Says in the article there that Butcher has 'never been a big spender.'

Now we are starting to know the real reason Rod wanted him as manager :greengrin
