Posting that you have specifically asked the police to waste time is possibly not the wisest move?

If you wanted official attendances for Hibs and Hearts, why would you ask the police?

Edit: Although there was that one time that I requested the attendance figure for my cousin's 21st birthday party from Lothian & Borders Police.

Confused about the hearts attendances ? We all are but if someone else has your user name they are maybe going undercover for this attendance operation so you might end up being an accomplice

They record ACTUAL attendances for H&S, rather than the 'tickets sold' pish that clubs publish.

Under the freedom of information act 2002 ref no.foi 0063 , my request will be looked at and will be let known within 20 days what the police will tell me regarding my question about true answers about number of peoplein attendance of a football match rather than phantom figures :aok:

You will find the hibs figures will be what is shown on the bbc etc and will be correct, the result for tynie will also show what the bbc has printed

Be very surprised if it will be anything different.

Someone has already checked with the police about their attendance figures and they were the same as what the media stated, figures are not correct though,we all know that.

I was under the impression that hearts quoted tickets sold, that's interesting if there is foi that proves otherwise.

Rather than asking for 'attendances' at games, perhaps people would get actual answers if they asked for the number of turnstile clicks? :dunno:

Jack
14-01-2014, 08:40 PM
I would be surprised if the actual numbers were given in a FoI request. The figures will have been provided for crowd control, maybe H&S, and will probably be classified, by the yams, as commercial in confidence given they are not normally publicly available.

BBC figures it will be then.

So how come people can get the actual figures for Darkheid, as in the Partick Thistle "missing 26,000 people" game above?

Yeah I was surprised at that but now that its happened I'd expect clubs to close the loophole.

It's nothing to do with the clubs. The police hold accurate information for attendances as in actual bums on seats. FoI says they have to tell us if we ask.

My understanding is that public bodies have to provide virtually everything they produce and also information provided by third parties unless they specifically state that it should not be disclosed. That would include marking it with an 'in confidence' tag of any sort.
