Just wondering how many of us on this board are ex Hibs Kids?

My son and daughter are now in their mid 20s and early 30s and are still dedicated Hibbies..

Was the Hibs Kids of the 80s the best of its kind?

I believe it was and is the reason so many fans of the 20-30 age group still turn up and follow the Cabbage.

I was a 80s hibs kid and now my son is one. Remember getting a scarf and sweatbands at the Christmas parties.

I was a Hibs kid of the early 90s.

Remember the Christmas parties at Sunnyside with players attending well. Also a birthday card every year.

Those were the days. I remember a hibs kids day when we were allowed to take 3 penalties into Chris Reid at Easter Road, scored 2. Good times.

I seem to remember reading that it was second only in size to Chelsea in the whole of Britain.

Certainly could fill the top of the south stand on Hibs Kids days

Was a proud member of both the Hibs Kids and the Dennis the Menace fan club in the 80s.

(Loved that Gnasher badge, so I did.)

Never got picked as a mascot or ball boy though :violin:

I was a Hibs Kid in the late 80s/early 90s. I loved the open days every Easter. My 3 year old son has recently joined, hope he has more luck in the ball boy/mascot draws than I did :greengrin

Yup, 30 later this year and was a Hibs Kid early 90's. Amazing memories. The open days and the Christmas parties were phenomenal! Never got picked as a mascot or ball boy-only bad memories of the whole experience. U remember one Christmas party when Keith Wright and Steven Tweed came in. I'm almost sure that big Tweed was dressed as Santa. He certainly gave me a Hibs pencil case. Got them both to sign it and used it in school for years

Same as you mate.1 of the first.Magic days.
Mind you they gave us the seats in the west above the away enclosure.

Remember being so bored at one stage on a soaking wet day that we counted the whole of the away end v St Mirren. A grand total of 29 of them huddled up against the old corugated tin at the top of the old away terracing. Mind you that was a big travelling support for them back then. :hilarious

I'm 40 and remember being a Hibs Kid.

I don't remember having a membership card though. I'm sure I remember cutting the bottom bit off a letter and taking it along.

Anyone remember that or is my memory playing tricks?

Being born late on a Friday night prior to a Hibs game meant I was a Hibs kid when I was merely hours old. :greengrin

I think there may have been a gap in my toddler years and was picked up again from around 10 or so. I remember the yearly birthday game and oddly a Hibs Kids game against Partick Thistle - possibly the only time I've been in the South stand.

Forgot to mention earlier I was lucky enough to be a mascot for a big game, Celtic.

1-1 draw in 1993 or 94 I think. Scored into Jim Leighton in the warm up which was the highlight of my life up to that point. Probably still in the top 10!

I was a Hibs kid..I remember Gareth Evans making his debut in a 2-1 win v Dundee and scored which was a hibs kid game.

How that time has flown by.

Remember that game well. Diving header IIRC.

That was my youngest brothers first Hibs game and we were sitting right behind the goal when he scored.

Great memories for me too. I was the DJ at many Christmas parties both in Sunnyside and latterly in FF alongside Willie McEwan. Great days seeing so many happy faces. I would think some of those attending will be parents themselves now:greengrin.

Late 90's to around 2004 or 2005 maybe? It's not the reason I'm still a Hibs fan though, plenty other things going for it when I was younger. Although I was never a mascot :boo hoo:

My son is now 25 and I remember taking him to a Hibs kids Xmas party when Jim Duffy was "manager" and Lex Gold was there. I told my son to ask Santa to save our club. It's taken a long time but Santa delivered his promise eventually.

I was a Hibs Kids in the late 90's/early 00's.

I got to be a mascot against Dundee on the 2nd January 2001 which we won 3-0 & was also the last game played in front of the old west stand.

My son who is now 7 months old has been a Hibs Kid since the day he was born. :aok::aok:

Not me, but both my kids have been Hibs kids.
The oldest one was the mascot in a game v Dundee Utd in the mid 1990's. This was organised at the time by Wilie MeEwan. The youngest one was the Hibs mascot for that infamous semi final defeat v Ayr at Hampden in 2002, when Franck was our Manager.
Both have been season ticket holders since 1995, so getting into Hibs kids at an early age works
