I don't know if you read that, but they're now "working on the possibility that this has an innocent explanation".

Did anyone else see the original story in the link on the EEN's tweet at 17.05? It confirmed that the passenger had high levels of explosive on his hands and there was a viable improvised explosive device in his hand baggage. That story has totally changed now!

Probably an overzealous anti terrorism officer stumbling across some safety matches.

Sounds like its ready to reopen shortly.

Anyone who invested in Flightradar, following the wee commotion on here a few weeks ago, will see there's nothing landing at Edinburgh anytime soon!

Edit: A Luton plane seems to be making its way but no destination noted.

We once got stopped at security at Edinburgh Airport after traces of explosives were found on our son's buggy. They didn't evacuate the airport though....

It is apparently very common to find traces of explosives on kids buggies!
