With Rowan looking like leaving without scoring for us in a competitive game it made me think of Shefki, another who didn't score a single goal for us despite being a striker.

Who else is on the list of strikers that never scored a goal for us?

Nope he didn't score a competitive goal for us.

His only goal came in a friendly against Dunfermline.

Valdas Trakys would be another one.

I've got a few things wrong in the past but very quickly wrote Vine off as a near certainty to join the never-scored club.

JJ's goal against the pars was a belter. Curled it in the far top corner, completely unexpected, or at least I thought so anyway.

Glad and Upset to see I was right about Rowan Vine when we signed him. Never wanted him to fail but I knew he was rank rotten.

But he definitely deserves a mention in the worst strikers category - remember him fresh airing a shot from about 3ft out - think it was against Rosenborg? - it hit off his standing leg and went in. We got him and Fyfe from Der hun in exchange for Ian Munro - still one of our worst ever deals.

Graham Fyfe was even worse. Wasn't there was a story that he wasn't getting a game with Rangers because he'd married a Catholic? As soon as he played the real reason they wanted rid of him became all too apparent. According to Wikipedia he scored once in ten appearances so he doesn't quite make it on this thread.

My memory of Ally is missed chances. We still had a lot of decent players in the team at that time, who created chances for him but he just couldn't finish - nightmare.

Were quite a weird one for strikers, over the last 6 or 7 years weve typically had at least 1 brilliant, prolific striker at the club and the rest were absolutely dreadful.

Most of the names have been mentioned (Trakys, Kuqi etc), but another couple of names off the top of my head are Roy O'Donovan and Junior Agogo - not non-scoring strikers as both got 1 goal each at Hibs, but Agogo in particular was dreadful, another of Calderwood's masterstrokes...

Similarly Vine scores a cracking volley at 0_1 in the Malmo game which is ruled offside. TBF Kerr scored 2 mins into the season and he was garbage.....

vine had a cracking long distance effort hit the post in the first leg as well.

incidentally, i saw him and taiwo at the cinema in ocean terminal on friday night. rowan was tucking into the pick and mix, tom on the ben and jerry's. i'm not trying to make a point here, i just like it when i see footballers out and about.
