not been to tannadice since they built a stand opposite the oddly shaped main stands :greengrin and after reading so many posts on here over the years regarding away fans being packed in like sardines(no leg room between seats) i think i'l pass again sadly

but if we were given the stand behind the goals i would maybe reconsider

It's not that bad there. Some fans like to over play the ''hardships" they face. Wimps. :greengrin

Hopefully a good crowd as a win would mean 4 wins in a row and really help us if we are to get into the top 6! Last time we won 4 in a row was Feb 2011!

Always enjoy a trip to Tannadice. Great viewing for visiting fans in their main stand, and while the stewarding can be a bit over zealous, if you behave yourself you should have nothing to worry about.

As good as a home game for me. Best advice is get there early. IMO it is worth missing that other pint to get into the ground without getting on the radar of the hook happy stewards. Bad cross between the riot squad and a grannies yappy wee dog.

The leg room in the wooden seats isn't great but I didn't find it too bad and I'm six feet tall. I think it's actually more of an issue if you're of the, ahem, larger build :greengrin

It's hard to comment on the 'over-zealous' stewards as you never know what actually went on. I disagree wth their decision not to let the Sect43 guys bring their flags into the stadium, though. Sounds stupid to me.

Overall, I've never had any trouble at Tannadice....other than one time with a group of very drunk Hibs casuals in their late teeens/early twenties who, for some reason, wanted to start a fight with me, believing me to be one of the 'enemy'. A middle aged guy who forgot his Hibs scarf, that was probably a red rag to a bull to those people

Heading up on the four in hand bus which is full :)

Think United will be surprised with the number of away fans!

:agree: I can see a repeat of the scenes that we've had at East End Park a few times, tomorrow with fans standing outside waiting to get in.

I'm guessing we won't get the stand behind the goal that Aberdeen had a few days ago and their fans will be back in there. That will mean we'll only have the side stand and I think there's a chance we'll fill that tomorrow.

Hope so anyway.

I always park the utd side and it's been fine, never been the dundee side so it sounds like its easy wherever you go. But then again is tomorrow going to be a bumper hibs support with parking at a premium?

Just done a bit of google on that car park ( hilltown market), sat and sun it has a car boot sale from 0730 until last person leaves, so that will probably take up a fair bit if the car park

Car full from Winchburgh heading up, leaving at 13:00 to get there 'earlyish' as we've been allocated the 'Jim McLean Fair Play Stand' which has a capacity of 1,400 which I'm sure we'll fill easily

My bad it holds 1,400 not 1,500

Carheenlea

Parking is never too much of a problem at Tannadice, plenty on street parking. Getting parked near the pubs is usually tricky, but I opt for the streets behind the allotments where parking has never been difficult.

Utd have always been terrible for gauging travelling support. There and Dunfermline seem to have issues quite a lot with too many Hibees showing up. :agree:

According to an Arab on Dundee Utd mad here's the break down of what their stands hold :-

George Fox stand (North) = 5,450
Jerry Kerr stand (South)= 2,300
Jim Mclean fair play stand (South)= 1,400
Eddie Thomson stand (East)= 2,800
Shed (West) = 2, 200
Total 14,150

If I remember right I'm sure we've had the fair play and the West stand before

Last couple of occasions we've taken a decent support. I wasn't there in February but the first game of last season we had a very sizeable support.

However, the quality of steward up there is appalling. Very strict when it comes to sitting in your seat etc.
