Hibs have spoken with Murphy's agent about him coming to Hibs. Nothing formal as of yet but looks like TB wants him up here soon as possible if he can.

Is it a on a loan or a permanent deal? Wouldn't mind Murphy at all! If he is as good as his Motherwell days then that will be fine with me.

Hopefully good news - but have his club given the OK for him to go? I was under the impression he'd been in their squad recently. Presumably we've gained permission before speaking to the player...

Don't need permission to speak to an agent I don't think. But sounds promising as a start to the transfer window :aok:

I don't know if it's perm or a loan. All I know is contact has been made and that Hibs are interested in bringing him up here.

Murphy would be a great addition to the squad, he had a bit of a nack of scoring against us, I'll forgive him for that if he starts scoring them for us GGTTH

Interesting but SU have already let Taylor go out on loan to Jags so I'd imagine they'd want someone in before letting another striker go.

He signed a 3 1/2 year contract only last January. Would seem like a fair fee/compensation would have to be paid.

Perhaps a Del Boy deal....sale or return?

Can't see it to be honest. He's starting fairly regularly and I doubt we could afford to buy him outright. Would be a good signing though :aok:

It could be argued the other way however. Murphy could just sit tight and pick up a salary, the Blades might be happy to offload.

I think Swanson may be a more affordable target (if terry wants him)as I don't think he's playing today
Plus Murphy just scored

Looks like Murphy is back in the managers plans down there.

Not including today's game against Villa, he has played 16 games and scored two. In those 16 games, he has either come on as a late sub or starts from the start and then is subbed.

Looks like someone who is on the fringe of the team rather than being seen as rock solid first team pick. Would be surprised if he was to come to us.

Not looking good for us then... Impression I got on here was that he was out of favour there, a bit confused!

I think he was out of favour and was homesick prompting the speculation about him moving but seems to have come into a game with them in he last few weeks
