Is it just me or do we nearly always end up playing towards the south in the first half and the Famous Five in the second?

I assume this might be because we wanted to play down the old slope?

(Not the most insightful post but just something I've always wondered about)

I think we need to get the slope back, im sick of this flat surface.

I've always assumed it was a 'tradition' of sorts; a hangover from the days of playing down the slope in the second half.

It does, though, also mean that Hibs can play towards their own fans in the second half and I'm sure the away teams' captains have a similar view regarding their own fans should they win the coin toss.

:agree: I think teams normally choose to play towards the end where their fans are situated, in the second half.

That makes sense, otherwise we'd have been winning the toss every game

When was the last game we played towards the South Stand 2nd half?

I remember a game years ago against Dundee Utd that we did this, my only ever recollection of us doing so though, this game IIRC?

Stokes 12 second goal against rangers (rip) 09-10 is the last I can think of but I'd be amazed if there haven't been few since. Actually 3 3 United game in 2011.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/4769012.stmmaybe something to do with us having Derek Riordan, and over 16000 at the game, had something to do with the end result:wink:
