If someone would have the balls to do a study in Scotland would it be permitted?

I wonder if this new "integrity" dude mooted in the press to stop match fixing would look at things from this angle and whether a particular added dimension would be added in Scotland?

Interesting that when the OF played in European competitions their booking rate was much higher than in their domestic matches. I've not looked at the stats recently. Does the greasy Greek not currently hold the honour of most fouls against in this years CL? Yes he does.

Not sure much more of an investigation needs to take place really ;-)

Sorry, I don't get your point re the first article. The evidence suggests that in the NFL, Premiership and probably all over the world the home team get more decisions due to the crowd influence. Do you expect to see something different in Scotland?

I presume that the basis of your post is that Scottish officials are either on the take or bias?

I can certainly think of one whom I would suspect of this.

That doesn't surprise me. When you're on top and in control of games you're going to pick up fewer bookings.

For the crowd to be an influence, surely they'd have to be supporting the home team? :greengrin

Hmm, wonder what Craig Thomson's views would be on this happening in our game - For/Against ????

You've watched Scottish football over the years possibly read Lawrie Reilly's autobiography. Folks have their views. I'm not saying they're on the take but any investigation should also look at bias.

Id don't know what more I can add to my original post I thought it wasn't particularly cryptic - if a study was conducted would it find bias with a Scottish dimension - the Old Firm or possibly closer to home - Thomson? Surely that would be the point In Doing the study. I'm not saying it would or wouldn't but an independent view would be welcome IMO.

Must stress am posting this a bit " Tongue in Cheek " :greengrin:wink:
Right since my playing days have always thought if there is going to be " match fixing" in Soccer surely the obvious person with the ability to influence the result of a game is the REFEREE !!!
He has overall power to change the course of the game in the name of the "Rule Book"

Any thoughts guys ?

Remember I have no proof etc of this ever happening it is just a point of personal interest given events over the past few seasons :cb
