I've been trying to find a picture of Jimmy Kerr, our goalie from 1938 - 1951. Can anyone help?

I could be wrong, but I am sure he was part of a presentation with the Famous Five before a friendly with Schalke in 70/71(?). The picture must be out there somewhere.

He had a suit on though, not his big wooly jersey and bunnet!

It was Jimmy McColl and Johnny Halligan with the Five that day.

I have over two dozen pics of Jimmy Kerr which I can send you - if you just want one picture I can upload it here (when I get home from work) or if you want them all, send me a PM with your e-mail address.

Course it was.
Don't remember the Johnny Halligan bit though.

Among the first games my old boy took me to. He was beside himself at seeing Gordon Smith on the pitch again. He told me he looked as if he should still be playing. I couldn't agree then at all, but today I know what he meant.

Thanks for posting this. It's beautiful.

One picture would be great mate. It is for an old lady who was telling me about him the other day, she enjoys reminiscing.

Great pic, the whole 5 look like they could play that day, with possible exception of BJ & the great Gordon looks like an even more suntanned version of Luis Figo! Wonderful stuff, thanks!

My Grandfather played in the school team with Jimmy, pretty sure we have the photo from then, Gramps used recount the story of his debut for Hibs quite often

Jimmy had a "Friendly" debut on 17 September 1936 in a 7-0 away win against Chirnside :greengrin

His First team debut was on 3rd September 1938 in a 3-0 away defeat by Clyde (despite losing 3-0, he did however get a good report in the Scotsman).

His final match for Hibs was on 15th September 1951 in a 4-4 home draw against Aberdeen.

According to iHibs, Jimmy played in 265 competitive first team games, and I have records of at least 290 games including Friendlies and wartime games, so Jimmy most likely turned out in over 300 games in total in his 15+ years at the club.
