They had a march through Broxburn today due to the memorial. Marching past along the main st , 3 jakey looking characters stumble over to the to shake their hand while shouting "no surrender".
I don't like him being in the cadets anyway but this sort of thing Sickens me.

Not nice, and maybe showing that the meaning of Remembrance Sunday needs to be revisited as a matter of urgency. It disgusts me how it has been hijacked by jingoistic, nationalistic types.

Don't blame you. Perhaps a letter to the local paper might lead to these people being shamed?

It's always going to happen though isn't it? I suppose it's better than being barracked by Celtic "fans".

You think ? Just wish they would refrain from reigning their bile on children who have no religious/political beliefs to speak off yet.
Ffs , it was a bunch of kids who felt smart in their uniform.
I lived in Broxburn for 10 years and unfortunately it's a hotbed of Huns and their sectarian bile. There are a few Smellic fans but mostly them.
Shocking/out of order and tbh that's the mentality of most of that sort of group down that way.
Never ever drank out there and only went out to Italian.
Just crazy.
Hope your lad wasn't to upset mate.

There's so much I'd like to say about this **** but it would deflect from what happened to your wee boy.
Hope he still enjoyed his day.

Listen , he wasn't phased or shocked in the slightest He didn't feel threatened at all. He just mentioned it and he realised the guy is an arsrhole.
So no truma at all . I just think its terrible to do that to kids.

13 and don't have any religious beliefs? it certainly wouldn't be any of the jakeys families they need to brought up the proper way and learn what's right from a very early age, even though those teaching hardly know left from right.

I suppose they follow my religious beliefs. I try no not pin myself to any man made religious doctrine. and I certainly don't shout it at folk.
They certainly don't side with any of the sectarian stuff. Believe it or not , he' s quite level headed.

Why would not having any religious beliefs have anything to do with "being brought up the proper way and not knowing what's right".
Both my kids (one adult one young teen) are without religious belief and are, I'd suggest, entirely au fait with right and wrong.
Given we're talking baout a fairly unpleasant form of sectarianism here, it's fairly self-evident that religious belief (although in fairness I doubt the guys in question could tell you much about Jesus or name the last time they've been in a church) is a route for righteousness
