View Full Version : A delay in making the appointment?

We play Motherwell tomorrow and then Inverness next Saturday before the international break. So it would be worthwhile not rushing into any appointment just to have the new man in place for the Inverness game when we can take a couple of weeks over the decision.

I'd also be surprised and disappointed if Butcher joined us in the week before we play his current team.

When have we ever done anything without a delay ?

If we get who we want, even TB before next week, there's nothing to be gained from delaying getting him in.

Surely the situation we have been in and still are re changing managers there is a case for sitting down and taking " a couple of deep breaths" before making a decision
Last thing we need is a " knee jerk" appointment

When did Petrie last have a knee-jerk? That doesn't happen.

According to that dickhead Keith Jackson on yesterday's Sportsound, talks have been going on with a potential successor for weeks.

That would suggest Shiels then? Or Levein!

I heard that too. Would most definitely suggest Shiels as the new man.

Wouldn't it make sense for any new manager to come in and use the international break to get to know the squad and maybe have a friendly, so that he isn't having to do all his assessments in actual games?

Under no circumstances will Levein be the next Hibs boss.

It makes no difference who the support want or don't want as our new boss or whether Petrie denies any involvement in the appointment, we all know who's calling the shots.

100% agree.

Even Rod knows that this next appointment is crucial (just like the last few). No chance of CL getting the gig.

Would be a great manager and he knows how to build a defence

I hope appointment is made sooner rather than later... Jimmy Nichols interview before the match was about as exciting as putting pins in my eyes

There is absolutely no way Levein will become Hibs boss.

Not really, only suggests that dickhead Jackson follows social media, looks at plunging bookies odds & tries to show he's in the know. Not having a pop at you, I believe you're correct that he's alluding to KS but I believe he's wrong - shock!
