Was thinking the other day, there's been an explosion in Hibs books in recent years. Can anyone think of a subject that hasn't been covered? Mine would be 'Against The Continentals: Hibs in Europe.'

There has not to my knowledge been a book about Wallet Mercers attempted take over and shut down of our club. Not long until it will be 25 years ago. It would make a great book in my opinion as I don't think there is enough info on what really went on.

Indeed.

Not sure what legal obstacles would have to be overcome to get some of the key players talking though.

A piece of investigative journalism that's there for the taking imo.

Good mate of mine, Sandy McNair, he wrote carspotting which was about him and Irvine Welsh getting up to all sorts in the early days has written a book called " Growing Up In Green " which is all about following Hibs in the seventies

He's just submitted it to his publishers and hopes it will be on the shelves within 12 months

How's the Willie Ormond biography coming along Jonnyboy? :greengrin reminds me of a song: Willie Ormond's watchin' you, Willie Ormond's watchin' you. if you have a good game,he'll take your name, Willie Ormond's watchin' you! sung by a bunch o' drunken Hibees on the way to Hampden:wink:

I'd be interested in a book about some of Hibs' earlier heroes such as 'Darling' Willie Groves and James Dunn. Would be pretty difficult to research though I'd imagine.

Great news - just read the "blurb" on the German amazon site - looking forward to reading your latest volume, particularly the 67 to end of the 70s period (when I was still "there") ... good luck with the book!
