View Full Version : When did the Malmo song turn in to the tune from France98

Noticed this a few times recently. The tune from Malmo seems to have changed in to the over used tune from France 98. Can be heard on a lot of new youtube vids of hibs fans.

apologises if this has been mentioned elsewhere

It hasn't replaced anything. Its just a new song for us to sing

Its a wee bit different though. Ive never heard any fans actually have a wee intro to the song like we do. Could sound quite intimidating with everyone doing the clap and shouting OHH at the same time. Before going mental!

Ha I was thinking OP meant Song 2 by Blur (Fifa 98')! You're suggestion makes more sense though. Not heard either song at games though :greengrin

I'd ordinarily agree, but the recent efforts certainly give a different take on it that I've not heard before.

It seems to have raised the noise so it can only be seen as a positive. Looks smart, sounded brilliant on the tele too. I've not heard any other Scottish teams do it either, or if they have certainly not anywhere near as good.

Yeah I agree, that wee intro bit sounded great at the Patrick game.

I agree with Dag. The intro and start to the song is superb. The drum and the clap is good and sounds class but the tune is a bit cringey IMO. Keep the intro and drum bit but get rid of carnival de paris for something else.
