if you had to pick any ex hibs player from the cup winning side from 1991 until the team that finished the end of last season to play on Monday night, who would it be and why?

I'm assuming Sauzee will be popular but some proper characters that might get flung into the mix ie budgie, matty jack, latapy and who's opting for Willie Miller to see if he can get his second ever goal for the cabbage!?

for me its hard to get away from Sauzee but Paco Luna gets the nod. didn't appreciate the wee man enough first time round and would have loved him to have spent more seasons at ER.

Loads of great players to choose from but i`d go for Leigh Griffiths It will be awhile before we see someone of his calibre again.

Perhaps we should make it that you're not allowed to pick Franck, Russell or Sparky! I'll apply that rule to myself and go for oooh ah Jacksona.

The famous Joe Tortolano for me...

Just for the song alone :greengrin

On a serious note though it would be big Franck for the reason someone said earlier, he was so good he made all the other defenders around him look better.

We could do with his organisational skills at the back, and his thunderbolt freekicks!

Franck Sauzee had the effect on Hibs that Mesut Özil is having on Arsenal now. The whole team have upped their game in his presence, like the Hibs did for Franck way back when.

Me? I'd have either Latapy (we do have Zoubir remember) or Sauzee or Sparky!

Being a Hibs fan is a bit like being near starvation, but whenever you are fed it's the most luxurious banquet of feasts to be had that keep you going!

Right now looking at what is a decent hibs squad. I would say Steven Whittaker or Scott brown. The right hand side of the pitch is our current weak point.

Matt Thornhill..i got his name on a Hibs top during the new player jersey amnesty of a few seasons back...they'd ran out of the letter 'S' and the shop staff insisted i could only get the strip for a tenner if i got a name of one of the new players on it...they only had the letters for Thornhill...Its been in a drawer ever since and i need a reason to wear it but am too embarrassed to be seen outside with his name on my back...i've been hoping that Pat might know an Irish player called Thornhill but this time machine lark might be a better opportunity for the immaculately preserved jersey coming out of retirement.

Boozy. On his day.

Taking the ball in, spraying passes, getting the rest of them to play. That's what we need right now.

We've got 2 in Craig and Robertson but they are played wide out of position.

Would be Sauzee or top of his form Riordan for me.

Never understood the Willie Miller love in, he was a very poor footballer. A lot of fight and passion but absolutely lacking in any sort of quality and his passing was shocking. I think Sauzee or Lapaty. I always really liked Ulrik Laursen, its a pity he wasn't at hibs longer. A fine defender.

I got tops for two of the kids, Palsson on one and Thornhill on the other.....the thing is, after I paid for the tops in the club shop, I could have just walked out the door without going over to get the names put on........oh well, the kids have outgrown them now anyway but the tops will be kept for them......although they might be scratching their heads and saying 'who?'..:dunno:

Latapy is the kind of player we need always.

I thought Liam Miller was going to be great when he first arrived, but his motivation and skill levels dropped quickly.

He plays in Australia now but I don't think he's set the bush on fire.

This team needs a proper player at right back. It would also solve some of our problems going forward as he waltz's past player after player.

I only mentioned Willie Miller as he's due me about 6 quid from lost pocket money on betting him to score first.. (in fact £6.54 if you include the 9% tax back in the day)

Nice choice but he'd already left by the time of the 91 cup winning team (played for us 88-89)

He might not be first on the list because of Sauzee, Griffiths, Latapy etc but would always be in my team David Murphy a class player

For me it has to be Deek or Sparky, goals win games and they two were the best at doing it, but no surprise i will go for Deek, not only did he score goals he created them for others around him, his assist rate was very good something he never got much credit for his time's at Hibs, could play several positions and would have been a great addition to the team on Monday night.
