Found this quite interesting, especially the average salaries in League One and Two.

So where would the SPL in general and Hibs specifically fit into this?

To quote the article:

"Premier League: £25,000 to £30,000 a week. Top earners: £250,000
Championship: £4,000 to £5,000 a week. Top earners £8,000 to £9,000
League One: £1,700 to £2,500 a week
League Two: £1,300 to £1,500 a week"

I'd imagine Celtic would be paying somewhere between Championship and Premier League wages but does anyone have a rough idea about the SPL average and what Hibs pay? Are we at about League One level?

I'd imagine our average will be league two. Teams like Inverness probably slightly lower.

Lawrenson's words maybe explain some things!

"If you had a five-year contract and you were sold after three, you would still get your loyalty money as long as you did not ask for a transfer.

That means, financially, you can be better off if you are a failure on a regular basis because managers will often make it as lucrative as possible for you to leave."

Those Championship figures seem a bit off to me.

Thought they would have been quite a bit higher.

:agree:
Especially the 8-9k for the top earners. I can't imagine joey Barton being on as "little" as that at QPR.
