Sways-a-plenty I miss those... There was a real buzz of anticipation that night. United had a decent team too.

I suspect Crunchie, Jackson and Hunter would walk into our team just now...not sure about Budgie mind you

I remember that game too. Think I was 13. Was in the main stand. It looks exact the same now as it did then.

Great night. Me, bro and my late uncle on the Famous Fife through for the game. Great goal from Darren Jackson also

We were better side in the Final also IMHO.

was behind the goals and remember being crammed in, was at the end where Jackson buried that baw.
cracking goal, great celebrations.
We went into the final top of the league at the time, very good side we had then. Bit unlucky to have not won the LC that year.

We weren't the better side in the semi. Hanging on most of the 2nd half. Was a great goal though.

First time I'd seen us win at Tiny.

There's 95 year olds who would concur with that statement.

One of the best atmospheres ive ever been at.God knows what the crowd was as i just got in in time due to the huge queue. Was on the terracing at the asbestos ridden stand side and the place went wild when jackson scored. Leighton was just outstanding that night and for that season was as good as any keeper id seen at er including roughie and goram.great great memories.

Totally forgot how bizarre the end of that game was. Everyone going mental when there was still a minute to play.

And how good was Leightons save from the absolute rocket near the end? Not only saved it but held it.

We were right in the middle of the terrace at the corner under the cover. When we scored I ended up doing my ankle ligaments and was in agony for the rest of the night. I ended the night in A&E. The saturday game was at Ibrox and I had to hobble there on crutches. Huge crowd that night with fake tickets on the go, at least one guy off the Alloa bus had a fake.

Great night. Good goal by Jacko. Remember being in a Hearts pub beforehand. Great atmosphere. "Can you here the Jam Tarts sing......noooooo"

Was quite a wet night IIRC.

Remember that goal very well. Don't remember too much after it went in though...ended up miles away in the celebrations! :greengrin

That was some save by Jim Leighton just at the end. Most keepers would have done well to parry it; he got both hands to it and it stuck.

Match-saver. :hibees

Jimbo is the best keeper that i've ever seen in a Hibs jersey. His tie at the end is something else as well!

One of my favorite games ever - massive crowd, mental celebrations at the goal and then at the "end" even though there was a minute left!

Willie Miller nailing Malpas in the 50/50 tackle - absolutely brilliant!

I forged a ticket to get into the game, only 16 at the time - luckily I didn't choose a life of crime!

Typical Miller years; how boring (goes the official line)

Not a space to be had at our end which is more than I can say for the paupers when they visited ER in a certain semi final.

Also nice to hear such a cliche free assessment from AM and JL compared to nowadays.

A fantastic night but I showered as soon as I got home....:agree:

Great night!!
Just made the last bus to Glasgow and spoke briefly to a young Kevin Harper, who I think came on as a sub at ibrox the following weekend.we really should have won the final, lots of chances in the last 20 mins.

Budgie was featured in the programme I suspect.

As an aside I wonder how many of the folks that attended still go on a regular basis...

That surely wasn't supporters booing during that 1st clip was it? I thought that was a new thing that only our terrible supporters nowadays do.

No booing, "Miller Must Go!" Chants, "I'm not going back until he's gone" and the occasional scarf-throwing episode were all features of the Miller era to varying degrees.
