Pictures been posted recently on the Idlewild Facebook page of what appears to be Rod Jones and Roddy Woomble recording up in Mull - hopefully this wil be them reuniting after their hiatus?

One of my absolute favourite bands, would love to hear some new material (as good as The Birthday Suit and Roddy's solo projects are)

Would be good. Think I've seen them live 7 times, so they still hold the record of the band I've seen most! :greengrin

I dinnae want to boast, but:

Idlewild live fourteen times
Roddy Woomble live five times
The Birthday Suit live three times
DeSalvo live twice
Under One Sky once

I do like my Idlewild :greengrin

I like most of their stuff but Warnings/Promises is the one that stands out, brilliant album.

Opinions and all that, but really? Better than 100 Broken Windows?

Welll, fairy nuff, suppose I've played 100 Broken Windaes to death. And I'm old.

Bit of a controversial one but I'd pick out Make Another World as their best album.

Idlewild was my first ever gig! 100 broken windows was amazing at the time. Remote part was the last cd I bothered buying though. Was the newer stuff no a bit keek?

Sounds like you are the expert so I respect your opinion! A grower I suppose but it's my least favourite.

I would love them to get back together - seen them live a few times (nowhere near 14 mind you :greengrin) and they're probably in my top 3 favourite bands :agree:

They played at my MSc Graduation Ball and I had a pint with Roddy afterwards - genuinely great company :agree:

Not sure what I'd say is their best album - I do absolutely love Warnings/Promises but 100 Broken Windows is a stellar album too!

My favourite band.

When I argue I see shapes is amazing. They just ooze class in every song.

Roddy's solo stuff is outstanding as well.
