Sometimes lemon juice, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda works for this sort of thing. Maybe then put some stain remover on it.

I got turmeric stains out of a blender jug, just with repeated washing with fairy liquid and bicarb over a period of time - it probably took a few months. A very elderly man who owned a dry cleaner/mender shop in Tottenham told me it's almost impossible to get saffron or turmeric out of any fabric other than white (because white stuff can be treated with things you can't treat coloured items with), but white fabrics were still close to impossible.

The above suggestion sounds good, but keep trying. New sink might be less trouble.:aok:
