View Full Version : Score prediction v St Mirren

Looking for the good run to continue and this is a great chance to build on the confidence and start to improve our home record by recording our first three points of the season at Easter Road against the league's struggling team.

I'd be happy with any sort of win but am I being greedy hoping for a performance and dare I say it some goals? Would be good to see Heff and JC adding to their goals from last week and at least one of them becoming a regular scorer. Think JC in particular would benefit hugely from a home goal in a winning team. Doesn't matter really who scores though as long as we win.

Here comes the concern though. St Mirren haven't been able to buy a win. Manager under pressure. We turn in one of our Charity FC performances and give the team in need of a result what they are looking for.

Do we really frequently give struggling teams results or is this just an exaggerated supporter myth?

Anyway, my thinking is edging towards a hibs win. Don't think we quite have it in us to score 3 and 4 as yet though you never know and this would be as good a chance as any we will have to do it. If pushed I'll go 2-1 Hibs though would not be surprised at a low socre draw or a narrow Saints win either.

With Heff and Collins off the mark and from what I've heard about Zoubir, we have enough attacking threat to score 3/4, although I don't think we will.

I'll go 2-0 hibs, but I can't help but feel St Mirren are bound to start picking up points sooner or later, and if we won it would put them on 1 point from 7 games which is atrocious.

Confidence is huge in football and we seem to be getting some, whereas St Mirren's morale will be rock bottom, which should play in our favour.

Whilst one swallow doesn't make a summer, one win doesn't make us world-beaters, but I do think we have "turned the corner", got a wee bit confidence and belief back so will go for 3-1

Maybe only the super duper fans who go to away matches should be allowed to go. The regular home fans can spend their £400 season ticket money on something else.

See no reason to believe that this game will be an easy 3 points for us - we have shown often enough in the recent past that we are quite capable of losing any game no matter how good or bad or young and inexperienced the opposing team may be. Hope we win, I'll go for 2-1 - we're bound to lose a goal, and we might get lucky up front ... wouldn't be in the least surprised if it went the other way though.

3 or 4 - 1.

If we're genuinely starting to click, then now would be a good time and that would be good evidence.

I think we'll concede a goal - maybe concede first then go on to win.

Yep they are lacking in confidence we really need to start quickly, dominate the game and keep them in their own half. Too many games we start slow and seem to wait and see how it will go rather than taking the initiative. Start on the front foot for once at home giving the fans something to shout about.

I think I am in the 3-1 hibs camp, even though the law of averages state that St Mirren are due a draw/win I'm hoping it won't be this week . It would be nice IF we could also keep a clean sheet and pick up a couple of goals to up out goal difference. Confidence is high ( but this is hibs so who knows)

8-0 Hibs, a total rout, which sees St Mirren sack Danny Lennon and replace him with a no-nonsense SPL manager who knows how to grind out results and win ugly. The impact of the new boss on Saints is immediately felt in the next game against Hearts, where the bone-crunching tackles on the young Jambo players leads to several injuries and a a 2-0 win for the Buddies. Gary Locke produces a bitter, whingeing 'why us' protest, but the heads of the Gorgie youth go down as the heavy pitches sees them fall to the cynical ploys of the SPL old stagers and Hearts are hopelessly adrift in the relegation berth by Christmas.

BUT

There is light at the end of the tunnel and the Gorgie boys are massively saved from relegation!

OOPS

The light is a train called liquidation, and they have run out of dosh and are wound up, unable to complete their fixtures.

BUT

A Newco rise from the ashes with no debt, no asbestos stadium and a bid to groundshare with Whitehill Welfare in order to try and secure a berth in the new Lowlife League.

We usually do teams that are playing badly a favour whenever they visit fortress Easter Rd. so it'll either be 1-0 Saints or if we decide to actually play like a team aiming at 2nd spot then 3-1 to the Hibs.
