New book out on Monday about Joe and Gerry. Couple of articles about it on the Evening News and the Edinburgh Reporter. (Not sure how to link it) I never saw Gerry, and only saw Joe when he came back, and he was some player then. My best memory of Joe however was him kissing the turf at the Hands off Hibs rally. Looking forward to a good read.

Unfortunately had a huge error in the SM. Talked about Joe playing for Scots schoolboys vs England at Hampden in 1960. By 1960 Joe had been playing for Hibs for 3 seasons & had already ( I think ) been capped for England. Again from memory I think Joe scored both goals for Scots boys vs England at Goodison about 5 years earlier. Hopefully the error was down to the SM & not the book.

Joe won his first full England cap, aged 19, in 1959 whilst a Hibs player. Unheard of back then and unthinkable now.

And he's still not in the SFA Hall of Fame while Terry Butcher is.
