Why are we like we are and are some people just born evil? Had this discussion with mates a few times in the pub and would be interested to hear what folks on here think.

I like the theory that says people are a culmination of 3 things to different levels.

1. What they bring into the world with them. For example their physical size, intellectual capability, health and maybe even race.

2. Their environment. For example the country they are born in, climate, available diet, economical situation and other cultural influences.

3. Relationships. For example their family background, education, peers, neighbours and role models.

I love people and when I find a particular character positively or negatively interesting I like to try and theorize on what makes them tick. The same applies on here and I sometimes wonder if my opinion would change if I actually met them face to face.

Thoughts?

It probably comes under point one but certainly someone's genetic make-up would play a big part. I'm thinking in terms of heredity in physical and mental illness. It is often quite interesting that some people are made stronger from the ailments they contend with.

I believe all points are relevant in someone's makeup, some more than others but not always the same point being the dominant jigsaw piece in all individuals.

For example if two different individuals were brought up in the same loving religious family it would make sense that either both or neither would also be religious, however that's not always the case so other factors must be at work making us the individuals we are.

Pish. So starving Johnny foreigner cant achieve??? Tell Desmond tutu, Kofi Anan, The Dalai Lama they didn't contribute.

Now you've got a point. Parents are so influential in their kids attitude to life. But the rest is down to the parent's influence. They can obliterate the rest.

So one out of a dozen or so????

I don't tink you're particularly tick. Deliberately obtuse on occasion.
