Not the greatest game you'll ever see, but, the game had everything football should be about, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Emmanuel-Thomas' left foot finish for the opener reminded me of the left foot of Leigh Griffiths. Unstoppable!

Not exactly leading lights but the Bristol teams drummed up a decent crowd of 17,888

I had a score on them at 19/10 when it was 1-1 with about 25 mins to go, might've influenced me a wee bit! Great atmosphere in a pishy competition, might only be a bigger crowd in the final.

Not that I have seen it,but SSN saying that that the game was marred by crowd trouble? :casper:

i've always seen Bristol City as a a club the same size as Hibs, best match in England I can think of.

City population similar to Edinburgh...

On the grand scheme of things probably but its hard to compare two teams from different countries. We are far bigger and illustrious in Scotland than they are in England. Maybe my stubborn Scottishness but i'd consider us a much bigger club than Bristol City

Historically we are definitely bigger. Now, we have a similar fan base and their team looks a bit better than ours.

Bristol City are one of the unlucky ones. A club that chased the premiership, didn't make it and are now counting their losses.

If they'd made it their finances would be a different story altogether.

Unfortunately my "English 2nd team" is Bristol Rovers. Mu dad is from there. Follow their games & results and attended the occasional game when I'm down visiting family

Not read any reports yet but if there was crowd trouble I'm not surprised. There usually is between the 2! Not quite Old Firm stupidness but not far behind. Probably for the best the 2 of them have been separated in the leagues for quite a few seasons

Looks like a hefty fine will be on its way. Says in the article that they were known trouble-makers? I thought that known hooligans would have banning orders if they had offended enough to be classed as "known"?

Doesn't surprise me, went to see Rovers vs Exeter and the trouble from the Gasheads was mental, they must have the oldest trouble makers going about. :greengrin

Bristol is regularly cited by proponents of the one city, one team theory. Neither City, or Rovers have ever done hee-haw. But, argument for joining forces falls down, 'cause they clearly hate each other. Not wholly convinced by this Wallace Merger style thing anyway - look at Newcastle, city to themselves, fantastic and fanatical support - won nowt in nearly half a century.

Proper football, proper Derby :agree:
