Being reported that good Hibbie Bernard Gallacher is critical in hospital in Aberdeen after suffering a heart attack.

Had the pleasure of meeting him once and he is a very passionate Hibs fan, thoughts are with him.

"Critical but stable" and he's being treated in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

:agree:

His nephew (Stephen Gallacher) plays on the European Tour and had to pull out of today's Welsh Open today because of a back injury. Not a good day at all for the family.

Followed Bernard avidly when he was top man on the European Tour, rembering going to see him at Bournemouth in the Martini tournament. Changed days as there were only about ten people following them and you could talk away to the players! Let's hope he makes a full recovery.

Remember standing beside him at Bayview many years ago. Also remember watching him play an exhibition match at Dalmahoy against Lee Trevino and the then US Open winner Orville Moody . Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Just been looking at the late Stewart Brown's book, Hibernian Greats, with the foreword written by Bernard. A very prominent and highly respected member of the Hibs family.
Get well soon Bernard.

He was interviewed on the pitch at Hampden in the run up to the Skol Cup Final in 1991. I've still got that on video. He said he had changed his schedule in order to attend the match.

At that time of course he was still a contender for Golf's major prizes.

Nice man and I wish him a recovery.

Bumped into him on the way out after the first day at Lythem last year, and can only echo what other posters have said - a fine gentleman and has got time for a chat with anybody. Even if it was a discussion on how bad Hibs were (still are?).

Great to hear he's on the mend.
