Hibs, in the first round drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur. Was there extra time, a penalty shoot out or did Hibs progress on the toss of a coin?

That game was played at Ibrox on 11 May 1953 and Hibs goal was scored by Gordon Smith.

The next day a replay was held at Ibrox and Hibs won 2-1 with both goals scored by Lawrie Reilly.

Nice to see our City neighbours weren't left out and were able to arrange a friendly Charity match the day of the replay - sadly resulting in a 3-1 humping at the hands of the Jags :greengrin

The programme for the final v Celtic goes for a fortune. By the way, imagine asking some of today's players being asked to play two days running! Ha. Mind, could they not have decided the game on corners...or throw ins!

And players these days complain about having games a few days apart. :agree:
