What songs do you recall being sung at Easter Road when you were a kid? Just watched an old video from early 90s and Hibs' fans singing 'Youll Never Walk Alone'. Would never get sing now!

I seem to remember a chant that went: H-I-B-E-R-N-I-A-N, Hibernian! Can't remember the tune though. There was also RA RA RA Hibernian, Hibernian.

Not a hibs one but when airdrie came to Easter road in the early 90s having just signed Justin fashanu their fans were singing he's black, he's gay, he plays for air-der-ay. Quite funny and actually quite progressive for them given the right wing element of their support at the time.

Die, die, die, die, ya hun was always a favourite of mine from the 70's and 80's when big Gordon Rae or other more 'agricultural' Centre Halves dealt with a bluenose centre forward.

One I haven't heard for years is:
'The Edinburgh Hibees/the Tim Molloy's.
I used to wonder what the 'Tim Molloy's were!
Suppose it's politically incorrect now because of the phrase in the fourth line about tangerine persons.
Shame, as the rest of the song is fine, starting with 'Bring on the...'

Might not be related but what is the Edinburgh song all about?

Heard its bad but how? Never heard it sung. Is it racist or something?

Is this a wind up?

Nope, seriously never heard it. Everyone I've asked won't tell me and there's nothing about it on the Internet other than people mentioning vaguely that it's pretty offensive but not going into any more detail.

Assuming that it's pretty bad based on that reaction?

We should have sung that last week at Tynie after they launched into that (banned) song about being up to their knees in you know what, which they never get picked up for....suppose we are better than them but!

Not racist, but I suppose these days it would be judged sectarian.

The first one is to the tune of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzo0iHrivVQ :tee hee:, but I can't remember the words past "H-I-B-E-R-N-I-A-N, Hibernian."

I, like FifeHibernian, also have no idea what "the Edinburgh Song" is about.
