A bit relief from the horror.

Prices are sky high now.
Can you remember how much you paid to get into your first game?
And what year it was?

I was taken to games as a kid and lifted over the turnstiles.
Then in the early eighties i started going myself.
Around 1982 i think it was 30p. Can't remember any cheaper than that.

I remember paying £3 for a ticket for the derby about 1984 , thought it was only going to be £2.50 .Had to walk from the ticket office on Easter road all the way to St Davids High school in Dalkeith in the pouring rain as i only had £3 .Four hours it took .

2'6d, and I think that was for an adult. Programme was 6d, or 20% of the gate price. Either the programmes back in the day, were expensive, or todays admissions are expensive?

I have my match ticket from the 1979 Scottish Cup Final ... £1.50!

Pretty sure it would've been a shilling (5p) for the boys' gate when I started going regularly in the 1950s.
I've kept a hold of my 1st season ticket book from '71 (cost me all of £6). In those days you could only get season tickets for the old centre stand and the north stand.

I wonder if prices were dropped to a tenner for Sat would it drive in additonal footfall to get behind the team? Or would the club need to give the fans a tenner lol
