Never understand why people go for the publicity option. It just attracts trouble.

On a smaller scale, my school held a raffle for a mountain bike when I was a kid, we all bought our tickets, and the draw was made.

A lid who lived opposite me won. Thurns out that bike was stolen within a fortnight. Then the bike bought on the insurance was stolen. In total 3 bikes were nicked. Every wee scamp in the local area, knew who had a brand new mountain bike.

Enjoy your winnings in private.

She shouldn't have been stupid enough to post it all over Facebook. Never mind going public.

Everyone will know she has a million.

Should've kept it private instead of going for the attention.

Keep the money to yourself, don't let it get in the pockets of some overpaid footballer and his agent.

I believe Camelot offer you an incentive to go public. Something like making their financial advisors avaliable to you for the as long as you need them. If you stay private with your winnings you're on your own. But for this amount of money you would think you could find a decent IFA to look after your affairs.

Camelot are required to have their financial advisors for anyone winning over a certain amount regardless of whether you go public or not. Camelot apparently pay you to go public on top of your winnings as an advertisement thing. Also, and this is probably a while back when the lottery first came about, or if there are large prizes like rollovers, you can sell your stories to the press.

That's assuming she can budget to pay off her house over the life of the mortgage.

If there's any doubt, buy the house. At least if she waxes it she will still have a house.

In all fairness to the girl she says that's what she would like to buy not what she will buy, says she will do it when she's a more confident driver. A few wise investments if she gets sound advice and cost might not be an issue. Also we are assuming just because she's one a million she's buying new. Get one a year old, especially if your planning to do what she is, private plate and who knows its not brand new, I imagine that would cut costs too.

How do you keep the fact you win £1m quiet? Surely it would be all over her neighbourhood regardless of the press coverage?

Also she might be very sensible with the money once she sits down with parents, financial advisor etc to sort things out.

Well done her.

Phone Petrie and tell him you are going to give him the money for Super Leigh. Tell him you want 1/3rd of his sell on if he goes for more than he costs, if he doesn't you say you'll decide later about how much you want, but at the bare minimum you want half of his sell on
