If you look at most squads in the SPL its becoming fairly common for there to be very few non-UK or Irish players. The only team that really has a lot of foreign imports is Celtic, who can afford to pay for established quality and the wages to attract these guys. The rest will mostly be relying more and more on young players, likely from Scotland, which isnt a bad thing if the quality is there, as it will be hugely beneficial for the national game as well.

We've got 16 scottish players in our squad (17 if you count McPake even though he plays for NI) and 11 of them have been developed through our youth teams.

I personally think we should be looking abroad. Not to flood the team with foreign imports but maybe 2 or 3. Whether its Dutch, German, Sweden I don't know! But the scouting system we have or don't have, will never get the money to go scout in these countries.
