Hi lads after last nights horror show I've been having a debate about hibs and hearts records in Europe,any stat men know who has the better overall record?????

In my lifetime, them without a doubt.

Beyond that, I don't know but we'd be clutching at straws if we were to brag about it.

I'm intrigued by the question. Going by the Wee Red Book which i got a copy of yesterday:-

Both Hibs and Hearts have qualified for Europe 20 times.

Both teams have played 39 ties.

NOT including Fk Vetra, Dinaburg, Odense and Elfsborg in the Intertoto.

Hibs played 85 won36 drew17 lost32
Hearts played 76 won28 drew17 lost 31

The comeback against Napoli in 1967 highlighted earlier this week - it's just sunk in that we beat Porto in the previous round..

That and narrow defeats to Liverpool, Valencia, Hamburg and Roma.

In 1970 we beat Malmo. :greengrin
