Spoke to Paul Cairney last night. He was on crutches and said that he had cracked a bone in his foot at training. Going for a scan today, so hopefully it's not too bad and he will be back soon.

Another long term injury to add to McPake and Clancy.

One of the few players who, when on his game (which he hasn't been for a long time), can create things for us. Disappointing news.

Paul has damaged the ligaments in his ankle and has just tweeted this "@11Johnpaul: Gutted to say got my scan result back not too good 8 to 10 weeks"

Bit of a nightmare for him and for us. Our squad is small enough without having to cope with long injuries.

How long are mcpake and Clancy expected to be out for?

I'm afraid its looking more like you'd be better asking how long they are likely to play before being injured again? :boo hoo:

I really want to know what actually happens to all these good players like Cairney, etc. They come here, show promise, then it dissipates into a lack of fitness, sharpness and generally struggling to impress like they did when they first got here (before the all encompassing Hibs sink their teeth in, it seems).
