Damn.

Any reason as to why this is the case?

They've shown European games on live streams before.

No reason IMO not to show it in the UK.

Believe me, if I was near Edinburgh I'd be at the game.

Cheers Hibs!

So, for the avoidance of doubt, you can access this game in the UK even though the red text on the front page states video streaming is only for those out with UK & Ireland? Sorry if I have missed an official communication somewhere!

i've had a look a couple of times today and if it's available in the UK i've yet to see them advertise it, unless they are leaving it till tomorrow to possibly get more tickets sold for ER

p.s. just had another look and at least they are now advertising AUDIO commentary...... but at least they've finally changed the date below it to the 25th july instead of the 29th june :greengrin and hopefully you get more than the 10 mins commentary i got from the 1st leg

No, that part of Hibs TV is run by Perform ( a private company) on behalf of Hibs. A subscription there gets you interviews with players and highlights of matches, and also if you live overseas they also provide HibernianTV International which is not showing the Malmo match.

What you need to watch the Malmo match is Hibs TV Xtra which is produced entirely in - house with Hibs supporter volunteers doing the filming and commentary for our benefit.
Hibs TV Xtra is usually only for overseas supporters. But for the Malmo match they are opening it up al everyone at 10 pounds. You can purchase by paypal or directly by credit card at this link:

http://www.hiberniantv.co.uk/xtra then u need to register and click "buy games"

I don't think you need to pay by paypal. If you click on the "Malmo" option , then fill in the form, and "continue" , if I remember correctly it gives you paypal or credit card options .

I have to agree. I was worried paying £10 and then it would not work, but tested it earlier ( 3 hours ago) and accessed it fine. Now the game has started and same error as everyone else. Really frustrated and annoyed as live in Cheltenham and could not make the trip up due to work.

They should not advertise these £10 streams through official site if they are not going to work! Grrr

Having said that, just heard the score 0-3, so maybe better I can't see it!!

Missed first 3 goals and looks like I`ll miss any more to come . Any reason for tonight`s technical problems since last season`s coverage was generally good . Terrible result and performance but seen many matches where we`ve lost by only 1 or 2 with similar possession , chances etc.

A little email I put together to Hibernain TV on the back of yet another failed service to us Hibees all over the world..... Dont expect them to respond as to be honest i would not respond to such an email but hey at least I have got it all of my chest....

I feel so sorry for all the fans that turned up both to support the team and honour the remarkable man that was Mr Lawrie Reilly and its a disgrace that such great fans continue to be served up this rubbish and that the great man was will in some way be remebered through this horrific scoreline.

Have we as Hibs fans just rolled over now and accepted things for what they are or are we just over changing manager after manager ... Are we accepting of 2nd class and in the case of Hibernian TV 3rd class performances ????

if it makes you guys feel any better the Hibernian TV for overseas fans is just as bad a delivery as the players on the park..

Dear Hibernian TV,

I have taken the time to respond to you and having got up at 4am to watch the Hibernian v Malmo game only to be confronted with the usual service I have come to expect I thought I would email you to give you my thoughts on events last night and your service in general.

Please excuse the odd “F” word but as you can imagine getting up at 4am to watch something that in the end you could not actually watch frustrates the “****” out of you and in my humble opinion leaves you very much open to a verbal volley of abuse from myself and any other poor ******* that like myself has signed up to your interactive season ticket...

This service is actually that bad that it is almost “not quite” but almost laughable.

I imagine a ******g monkey (and it would have to be a technophobic monkey at that as a normal one would probably still do a better job than you ******s) in a little room beside Mr Petrie’s office on a stationary bike cycling his little heart out in order to get running the power to Hibs TV.

We then have the problem of their only being one camera angle in the unlikely event that we do somehow get the stream . I mean really in this day and age ONE CAMERA ANGLE… “****" sake my reverse camera on my 4x4 gives me 3 bloody camera angles..

Then there is the camera person himself (or her) , can I please suggest you tell them they really need to wear an extra bloody jumper or coat as they shake like they are in a ******g washing machine whilst filming the match and in the unlikely event that we do get the game I end up sick and cant tell if its due to the teams performance or that fact that I feel like I have been watching the match on the back of a harley *******g davison motor bike.

Whilst giving my verbal volley of the camera person can I also ask if they are being groomed by David Attenborough as the fact that I see more of the *******g seagulls during the game than the match indicates to me that the person is in the wrong industry.. that said have you tried playing the seagulls at centre half ??

In short please let me summarise your service for you Hibernian TV:

Your customer service is like our back four “******g” clueless and go missing for large periods at a time.

Your actual streaming is like our "CAPTAIN McPake " .... It limps in and out of action and at the end of the day even when the service is working we all know it’s only a matter of time before its broken again

Your response time to a complaint or query can be very closely matched to our own “thinking king” Mr Paddy Fenlon and his own ability to change a game !!!! Its slow , ineffective , obvious and above all else 9 times out of 10 it’s the wrong decision.

Your marketing and sales team within Hibs TV reminds me very much of Mr Petrie himself and I actually wonder if Rod has been down to Roslin Farm and cloned himself a “there I go thinking about that monkey again” interactive Sales & Marketing equivalent as the similarities in this team are so similar to Rod himself in that……. You are like a piece of dirt on my shoe that I cannot shake when it’s the start of the season and you have something to sell to me. Email , text another email another text and you are not shy when you think you have accomplished some kind of life time IT achievement … “like hey THE MONKEY has put the plug in the socket … The stream is back on all hail the monkey” and we never hear the end of it when things are going well and you want to be in front of the people lapping up the applause.

However your response to our complaints and criticism of your service again appears on the face of it to be very much like Mr Petrie and how he deals with things (such as bad managers continually being hired) in that you disappear very sharply and we hear little or no response to the complaints until such time as you respond with the same solution… sack the monkey and hire another monkey !!!

Well this is one customer you will not be getting back …”at least not until the home game against Motherwell ” (i cant help myself) :-)

In all seriousness Hibernian TV …. Your service sucks , it always has and it likely always will…. Thanks for the 4am waste of time and I hope you enjoy my 150.00 this season again and please look after that monkey

And why would they not ? its not like they do anything else really ... And i aint buying into this , they are hibs fans doing their best to assist us overseas fans out.

They run as a business and you can bet they are making a kings profit out of this racket they call Hibernain TV... If I ran my business like that and treated my customers with such disrespect and lack of cummunication when things go tits up I would be out of a job and out of customers.

They charge a very fair sum of cash for the crap they deliver and last year in total I spent over 220 quid with Hibs TV as I want to put money into the club even though I am currently living in OZ

Perhaps they will respond to a level of communication that their business ethics can relate to and is as articulate and sensible as their service ... !!!! :na na:

Myself and many others have tried the sensible , understanding , they are trying their best approach and you know what ... They did not reply to that either..

For what it's worth, I don't know what I was doing right last night but I had a fairly fluid stream which, despite the inconsistent picture quality, crashed only once towards the end of the match.

Looking forward to hearing what Hibernian TV's reply to the issues encountered will be and how they will deal with the consequent complaints.

I've been subscribing to the service for several years and - while nothing is ever perfect - the streams have generally been OK for me over the years. I don't actually expect as professional a service as the Malmö club's stream, because - let's face it - we don't even invest properly in the team on the park (IMO). I misssed the first 20 minutes last night ( I actually expected it to be that way at some point). You're right about the lack of professionalism, but that is systematic at ER...the bit about the King's profit is doubtful I feel, from everything I've been told.

I did the same after paying for a live stream which was absolutely unwatchable because of the constant stopping and starting (sorry, can't remember which game it was).

Anyhow, I didn't get a reply never mind a refund, and so kept my money in my pocket last night. I do wish our entire media operation was better than it is, I just get the impression that no one at Hibs actually understands this stuff from a consumer point of view.

Nice splash pages on the fishy site, mind... that's about it.

Hey Peejay,

Our company got bought by an American company who have a similar service for a well known sports franchise in the states and I am doing some work with that area of the businesses sales and marketing team. The mark up / margin of profit for service is mind boggling in this market.

Add the fact that the infrastructure that hibs tv clearly have in place is of substandard and prehistoric quality ... Apart from the pages on the official Hibernian website which they have cleverly written on .net programming to make the service look up to date ( very clever Rod) and for what Hibernian tv charge which is by the way slightly above standard prices (check what other teams charge) then I can assure you Hibernian tv are making a fine profit.

But please don't get me wrong , my very long winded email ha ha was mostly for fun and I as true hibee like everyone else want hibs to succeed at everything they do .

They charge the same and in some instances more than main competitors , they make the service look that it can pull off what it says it will do .... But it does not , and will not until some investment is made from a technical area ever do what it says it does ...... And that's not fair or honest trading in my opinion.

I don't want refunds , some may .... All I want when I send a serious and respectful email to the hibs tv team is a prompt answer and my questions answered about current and ongoing issues and what they have planned to resolve them .... Is that to much to ask of a business ?

Their arrogance is worse than the service in my opinion

I've said this before, but again, I am glad that Hibs tv exists and that they care enough about the overseas fans to put the thing together. However, some of these recurring problems really need sorting once and for all. I watched many games on hibs tv last season without any real issues. Just tiny moments here and there- but nothing that spoiled it tbh. Tuned into the cup final and got nothing: no video and no sound (maybe a blessing, in hindsight, but still). I have found that sometimes they respond very quickly - and helpfully on two occasions with me last year - but other times it's silence. Website layout is still confusing- simplicity is everything on a website and there is much to confuse you about what is what and where everything is. Maybe calling in someone (an experienced expert) to have a look at the whole thing might be a good idea, to just polish it all up a bit? I am not giving up on them though.

I didn't bother even trying because Hibs TV NEVER works well. Nearly 6 years I've been overseas and this 'service' from Hibs is just as pish as it always was.

Even when they are using footage from Sky etc, it still doesn't work properly on Hibs TV! Switch to some illegal stream, and voila, it suddenly works!

New manager and new IT manager required at Hibs.

Same for me too, almost a perfect stream until just after the 6th went in, I dunno if someone was trying to spare me the sight of losing 7 at home, but if I was at the game I wouldn't leave, so if I pay the watch on hibs tv, I expect to be able to watch till the end.

I'm not gonna start another opinion poll about cliff pike, but did the guy have to talk over SOL and GGTTH?

Had a really good picture until about 10 minutes in then everything seemed to freeze around our 18 yard box, the ball went in the net then always seemed to be there for about the next 70 minutes or so, even when we changed ends at half time the action still froze around our goal area and never moved out of it. hitting the screen with a clenched first didn't seem to help the situation.

My biggest complaint about the quality of the whole broadcast was how they managed to use technology to make all the hibs players move backwards and slower than the other team, I hope the next time its our turn to be on fast forward.

The biggest plus for me was definitely the in built sensor that detected the humane thing to do was crash my link completely after the 6th goal, I could not get it back which was a shame as I was certain it was only a matter of time before Fenlon put on another defensive midfielder and we could then have really gone for a 6 goal fight back, either that or a shot on target.

Next time I am going to spend the money on 4 pints beforehand then go home and film my own subbuteo version live, the quality and reliability of the picture will be about the same and my wife has agreed to do a Martin Glancy type commentary for me ( not a go at Martin, as I love his banter).

Throw ins have always been a dificult one for subbuteo players but I am pretty confident I can get the men to do a better one to their own player than Hibs generally to do. I am going to put an action man sized figure on the end of the goalkeeper stick to reflect the reality of what is needed in poor Ben Williams situation, he needs all the help he can get looking at what was in front of him on Thursday.

Update - I think I can get the budgie to do the Cliff Pike role.

I do agree and you have been a leader in keeping things going but its a poor poor service we get. Yes I appreciate the chance of watching Hibs game when I couldn't normally but its largely a chance and as others have said at times there's a better service elsewhere. I salute those who free of charge offer to commentate and that is of no issue to me but a tenner a game............come on your having a laugh. When Ive got it Id happily give hibs a tenner donation but when I'm being offered a service it is beyond poor. I also think £150 a year to watch home games on line is steep especially when sometimes it doesn't work or betting sites have better streams. Id hate to see the opportunity to watch games go as the last time but Hibs are having a laugh at the quality/service. Malmo had a great stream for their game. No hassles. OK at the same price but Ive no issue for a European tie and it worked.

Regarding refunds its a laugh. It like going to a restaurant you like. Your happy always but if your served a cold dish you wont pay for it. No hassles mistakes happen but customer service guarantees you go back.

Again Hibs are lacking and Im not sure why.

I don't disagree with any of that pr. Another way of summing up my post you quoted might be to say I know it's not brilliant, but it's the only choice I have if I want to see games and support the club. Not exactly a ringing endorsement or great situation to find myself in. I'll make a decision on the ST tonight, I suppose.
