Maybe to do with we are not in it yet?

You are right.

Just looked up some photos from Odense and Maribor games and definitely no patches.

Just remembered the Maribor score (Jesus we got horsed!)

Odense was a lot closer IIRC. Was it not away goals?

The competition regulations state that you cannot wear the patch until you are in the Europa League proper.

Maribor were a quality side though and they went quite far in the tournament that year, They also knocked Rangers (Now no longer with us) out the following year.

B-b-b-but our big team neighbours are the only team in the history of UEFA to play the Champions League anthem in a qualifying round so why can't we have a few patches on the kit?

Mind you, they're also probably the only team in history to have their majority shareholder sat in the dugout for a European game as well so I guess they work to their own rules.

They never played it at their qualifying round game, they weren't allowed to. They did play it after the last game of the previous season against Aberdeen, when they qualified for the qualifying round. And they still bang on about how hearing the Champions League anthem at Tynecastle is one of the reasons their current predicament is worth it! Joke of a club!
