On Selkirk's feed, Golden Boy Lockie getting some practice in for opening up the Yams new stand. Looks a bit expensive mind you. I doubt they can afford anything as new and structurally sound as this.

So in the last week: They've lost 5-1, our U20s have won 7-0 against a team that their senior team only beat 6-2. Almost too good to be true.

And I presume we let Selkirk keep all the gate receipts?

In fairness though Hearts were playing their undrr 17s.

It will be interesting to know if this was a full strength Selkirk side. They're one of the teams moved into the Lowland League, which with the coming pyramid structure, will effectively be 2 divisions above where the reserves/U21s will be playing next season (Lowland League --> EoS Premier --> EoS 1st Division).

I did say in the thread on their inclusion into this EoS 1st Div that it was a poor standard - something like 4.5+ goals on average per game. I'll be watching with interest to see how the whole setup progresses and indeed how the young Cabbage get on. Could well be some rugby scores on the cards this season for our youngsters. Exciting times indeed.

I'm sure the good folk of Selkirk will appreciate the significance of tonight's scoreline - after all they have named a street " Bobby Johnstone Green" as a mark of respect for one of own favourite sons who was a Selkirk man by birth.

U20's had a comfortable win at Selkirk last night, 2 up at half time through goals from full back Andy Black & David Paul. Lost track of all the goalscorers 2nd half but centre half Bob Wilson got one as did Max Todd & there was an OG from Selkirk.

Stand outs were Andy Black, Jay Doyle, Max Todd - the guys link really well & one touch passing is pleasing to watch.

Poor crowd given the superb weather - maybe 150 max

Felt sorry for Selkirk as they competed well 1st half but tired badly in the 2nd, not surprising as they had played Falkirk the previous night.

Neat new stand at Yarrow Park opposite the pavilion & a section of "decking" terracing

Always pleasant to see Hibees winning 0-7. How did Hearts get on against Selkirk and was it their youth team too?

Haven't heard of a few of those players you mention so even better.

On inspection it does seem like Hearts played laddies that I've no heard of but I dare say they'll be knocking about the first team in a few weeks.

Yes, looks like our youth team would have won WW1 on their own with no help from the Jumbos!!

No, THIS is Gary's preferred option for the new Tynecastle facilities:

It has the added advantage that you can't see the pitch from inside. :greengrin

Selkirk had 3 games in 5 days and had only 13 players for the hibs game. guy I spoke to(who is a hibby that plays for Selkirk) said that hearts were actually the tougher side to play against (score aside) and a handful of the group would be promoted to the first team this year. Selkirk have also been promised a return game at tynie.
