Right, I wasn't going to post this on the Holy Ground and I understand that Hibs.net is a football forum but I have received tremendous backing in the past from people on here with mental health issues so I hope the admins don't mind me posting this.

I am really struggling at the moment. I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder back in March but since then the "care" I receive has deteriorated.

I see my GP once a week for around 5 minutes. I had a mental health nurse who I don't get on with but they wouldn't let me see someone different. I was told there is no counselling service in Stranraer but I know someone who has a counselor. I've raised legitimate concerns about my medication and my sleeping pattern but to no avail. The psychiatrist, GP and nurse keep playing down my disorder and now won't even check my cuts to see if they are infected in case it "encourages" me to continue self-harming (I don't do it for attention).

Someone referred me to the Dumfries and Galloway advocacy service but I haven't been able to get in touch. I've phoned NHS 24 several times to tell them about some of the hallucinations I am having at night. They said I need to raise this with my GP but given how short appointments are and how much I have to say this seems nearly impossible.

Does anyone know who else I can turn to? I'm having to travel 60 miles to see a different Psychiatrist but still haven't even got an appointment so it could be a very long wait.

Apologies again if I shouldn't be posting this on here but I am running out of people to turn to. I need support!

Sounds to me like you need to get away from where you live and go see the world!!!!

Preamble : this post will offer you no concrete help.

I'm really sorry about your condition and I find it truly disgusting that you are not receiving the care you need. I don't understand how you cannot pick your own care provider, that seems absurd to me.

I wish you the very best.

Do not apologise for posting about your troubles. We're hear to help. :-)

Keep trying to get in touch with advocacy. They are usually very good and will be very experienced in dealing with your problems dealing with "the system".

Keep going mate, you'll get there.
