2 Police Cars Torched in Niddrie

What a senseless act of mindless vandalism, two fully equipped cars torched by erses, then the locals watch and laugh and joke about posting it on facebook!

The same locals who no doubt complain when the police don't respond quick enough. If they do, then they should be sent on the same 'irony' course as the Los Yambolinos

Presumably these people want to live in a community with no policing at all. It's a bit frightening to consider that. I wouldn't want to live next to folk like that. Unfortunately, some poor sod has to.

Just heard about this this morning and had a look at the video on the EEN site, apparently some folk were making excuses that the police were over aggressive with some young drunk so had it coming to them, no excuses can justify behaviour like this :rolleyes: as a long term Niddrie resident I'm always trying to defend this area against the frequent negative press this area gets but on this occasion it's totally justified, ashamed to live here today I'm sad to say :confused:

Now and again I do bit of voluntary work out in Niddrie and it never seemed as rough as some stories suggest. Really shocked to find that this actually happened.

As you are no doubt aware, Niddrie isn't as bad as people make out but when moronic behaviour like this breaks out it feeds fuel to the haters of this place!!

I have absolutely no experience of Niddrie so my vision of it is bore purely out of reputation. I'm sure there are many many decent people living in the area who are as fed up of the image as you are, a situation mirrored in many inner city areas across the UK.
