Latest update I have is nothing terribly exciting but is FACTually correct.

Rowan Vine has been training at EM as has McManus.

The ex Torquay striker who bullied hundreds at the ice cream q at Luca's before getting a toffee fudgy wudgy 3 scoop tub was shown round EM but did not train.

Lyle Taylor has not been seen by the players at EM but that is not unusual in itself as often targets are shown round in off peak viewing times.

KT one year still to be announced but should be in time for Euro deadline.

The bit in bold - I've been away on holiday the last week or so and am far too lazy to read back through the thread - does that mean we have had a bid accepted for him?

Before I left the word seemed to be that we weren't pursuing it any further...

@BarryAnderson_8: #Falkirk will accept around £200,000 for striker Lyle Taylor. #Hibs have offered £150,000 so far, according to @Dennynews.

So we can count this story as bull **** then? Or is it only hearts he fabricates stories for?

Thanks for the info, hadn't heard that. I liked the look of Taylor when we played Falkirk in the semi final but hard to say based on that 1 game if he is worth much more than 100-150k.

I thought he led the line well, ran our defence ragged and also held the ball up. Although he fluffed his lines in front of goal I felt his general play was instrumental in the way Falkirk scored their goals against us. His scoring record in Div 1 also shows he knows where the back of the net is.

Would be pleased if he signs but if the club dont value him more than the current offer I would understand.

Are we not allowed 1 change-so we could add one new signing-early next week?

Yes, we can add one player after the deadline.

18.13 List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:
a) 24 June 2013 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
b) 12 July 2013 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
c) 26 July 2013 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
d) 12 August 2013 (24.00 CET) for all matches in the play-off round;
e) 2 September 2013 (24.00 CET) for all further matches from the first match
in the group stage up to and including the final.

18.14 For the three qualifying rounds and the play-offs, a club may register a
maximum of one new eligible player on List A after the above-mentioned
deadlines, provided the quota of locally trained players is respected. Such
registration must be completed by 24.00 CET on the day before the relevant
first-leg match and the club's association must confirm in writing that the new
player is eligible to play at domestic level at this time.

Take this apart at your pleasure:

Had a call a little while ago from a source (PSF Edinburgh-Based) to pass on what they've heard and it's a stretch to believe it but fascinating if true.

Reason for not bidding £200k for LT and getting it over and done with on Monday was because Rodders wanted to hold back the money whilst he carried on negotiating with a certain midlands club who play in old gold so that Hibs could register one of their players (not Berra) today.

It's failed in terms of a deal being done this week but 'watch this space' is what I've just been told.

As I say, feel free to shoot down. I don't know it's validity only that the source would be involved in a certain aspect of such a deal.

The latter.

It was hinted that big money (in Hibs terms) was being offered. I asked what that was and got blanked. I was asked what our club record fee was, I answered £500,000 (UDLC doesn't count) and the source (who is an egg chaser) said, 'in that case, your lot are offering a club record fee.'

The latter.

It was hinted that big money (in Hibs terms) was being offered. I asked what that was and got blanked. I was asked what our club record fee was, I answered £500,000 (UDLC doesn't count) and the source (who is an egg chaser) said, 'in that case, your lot are offering a club record fee.'

Still don't know the number or any sell on % or anything more than the above.

Looks like Rod is getting serious, big stakes for Hibs :-)

I fear we are getting ourselves too over excited here guys. Leigh certainly doesn't sound like there are negotiations or a chance of him coming home in the near future and as we all know he's not one for subtlety so i'm sure he would have gave something away if there was a chance he may be returning.

Because although the number quoted in the press was bigger than the fee we paid for Keith, it wasn't just the transfer fee and therefore UDLC actually cost less than Keith in terms of transfer fee.

In normal circumstances I'd agree with you, but two things will happen in that six month period.

1. Wolves will try and get him to sign a much longer contract if he performs for them and

2. His agent will start touting him around actively if he doesn't.

Leigh's not singing for us in this window. We wouldn't pay the fee when we could get a pre contract in jan. IMO he won't be back at Easter Road, maybe late in his career. Will go onto bigger and better things.

Interesting thought .... As you say why pay that amount if LG agrees to a pre contract and a couple of hundred grand in his pocket for his troubles, that way we could have LT now and LG next season ... A verbal from LG would be enough just now ;-)

I said to a few folk a few weeks ago that I could foresee us having Taylor on a 3 year deal plus an experienced striker on a one year deal to augment the existing Handling and Caldwell, and then next year we'd have Taylor and Sparky on a free with the two laddies beside them.

I might not be all that far wrong to be fair.

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2013/07/11/leigh-griffiths-targets-a-new-contract-at-wolves/

Leigh Griffiths targets a new contract at Wolves

Striker Leigh Griffiths today set himself three goals – a new deal at Wolves, the League One title and a regular place for Scotland.

Griffiths got his ‘second’ Wolves career off to a flyer last night when he scored with his first touch within three minutes of coming on at the break.
He also set up the third goal for Tongo Doumbia in the opening 3-2 friendly win at East Fife.

The 22-year-old, who has spent virtually two seasons on loan at Hibernian, is now fully focused on his three-pronged target at Molineux after his first senior goal for the club.

Wolves took up the 12-month option on Griffiths’ contract in May and the new Scotland cap already wants to earn another deal.

He said: “The head coach wanted me to come back and said he was going to give me a chance, which is more than other managers have given me.

“I have just got to embrace it and give him food for thought about a new contract. If I’m in the team and scoring goals, then it’s up to him and the board to give me a new contract.

“If they don’t, I have got to enjoy this last year and help Wolves win the title and we will see where we go from there.

“That won’t be my decision. It’s up to the manager and the board, but of course I would love to sign.

“Hopefully, I get myself a regular place in the Scotland team and help Wolves to the title.”

The pressure will be on Wolves’ young squad from the first game of the season, but Griffiths insists the League One title is a realistic aim.

He said: “We are going to be a big fish and the team everyone wants to beat. But the boys have got to handle that and I’m sure the manager can handle it.

"We have got to go and perform week in, week out.”

Griffiths faces his former club Livingston in Wolves’ second friendly on Saturday and is working on his sharpness after an extended break.

He said: “I haven’t had much of a pre-season because I only joined up on Monday, but it was good to get a 45-minute workout under my belt.

“Maybe I should have scored another but I was happy to have got a goal.”

No, because he's playing for Honduras in the Gold Cup. Their next game is at 2:30am our time tonight against El Salvador in Miami.

Yes, that's the picture. Obviously not Claros if he's playing early tomorrow.

Could be Taiwo.

I follow the account because they post some Hibs news but recently I've came really close to 'un-following'. Tweeting the official Wolves account like that is embarrassing.

Who says Taylor is interested? With not paying a transfer fee there would have been more wages available, tell me Higdon isn't after the cash

The actual transfer fee was very minimal. Even with wages the whole thing was completely overplayed.

IF UDLC doesnt count for some reason. Pat McG was 560k through tribunal, surely the record?

Food is never off-topic in a transfer thread. In fact, it's nigh on compulsory.

It's been ages since I had a topic.

Ah blox, Ive missed it too.

But to register my contribution I'll just say that today's food intake has been a tray of pizza meant for 5 people (yes 5) and the best part of a kilo of freshly picked cherries. Some home pickled olives made the team too.

And get this, Mrs One Day Soon - who is with me in this exotic foreign adventure - saw my pistachio cornetto (as it were) and raised me: a Mojito Solero, with rum in it. Now that's a quality ice lolly.

donno if its been mentioned on this thread already so sorry if it has but by the lack of action in the strikers front would it not be a good idea to try and get a loan player in from maybe the premiership or even championship for that matter ie a good forward thats not getting a game for a big club? would be a good option as we could get a good pedigree. obviously it might be too expensive for a percent of wages but surely certain demands could be low if they want their player to get game time on a good playing level

I'm not sure. Fairly sure Martin McIntosh trumped McGinlay at the time. The question is whether we paid a higher fee again for someone ridiculous - Alen Orman perhaps?

As has been said, we are allowed to add another player to the European squad for Thursdays game after the deadline.

Surely there is a deadline for that additional player to be registered as I can't imagine we'd be allowed to turn up with a new guy.

Anyone know when that second deadline is?

Sure I read somewhere that you were allowed a 'wildcard' signing up to 24 hrs before kick off
