Listening to ELO Greatest Hits. What a band. Jeff Lynne is a genius.
The sound is very Beatlesesque. In fact I gather Paul Macca acknowledged this and said the ELO was the closest thing to The Beatles.

ELO were before my time but I was lucky my old boy liked them. When I finally got round to giving them a go I was hooked. I was always lucky my folks were right into their music when they were kids and was brought up on stuff especially from the 60's and the 70's. I was born in 81 and over the last couple of years I have only really now appreciated some of the bands from the 70's. Bands like ELO, Talking Heads, Slade and Creedence Clearwater Revival to name a few.

:agree:
Out of the Blue was one of the first 2 albums that I bought for a second time once CDs were invented (the other being 'the Storm" by Moving Hearts).
They were also slightly before my time, though my brother is 7 years older than me and was obviously a big influence.
