Defensive? Nah. I just know I will have just spent 41 days in Brazil doin allsorts, next is 12 days in Spain, I'm no exactly Michael Fish but I know where it will be plenty hotter, and it wont be central Brazil in June/July. At Christmas in Rio when it was 40+ was a different story, but it's no December now. If you'll excuse me, I've got to go to work in "that heat".

Eu preciso seu trabalho!

Seasons are reversed in Brasil. It also rains more in winter. Do you work for Weir pumps?

Believe it or not, it can get very cold at this time of year in Brazil. The temp can drop from 20+ during the day to anything as low as 1. The drop gets worse the further south you go, so Rio won't be so bad. Remember, Brazilian homes don't have carpets or central heating, so you really blooming feel it when its cold. (I'm talking constant tea drinking, 5 blankets and wearing hats at night to sleep level of cold)

I can vouch for this also - was s******ing at the thought of blankets out in Brasil and then I was the first to ask for them! Stotting about in flip flops and Bermudas soon wwears off as a novelty when the temp drops! The south can be Baltic and even snow.

The only red button channel with anything on it on my freeview is showing Glastobury.

Cheers to the guy who gave the info about watching online, though... managed to see the goal. 1-0 Italy. :aok:

Brazil have started the game brilliantly. When Spain have the ball and time they pick teams apart easily, but Brazil are closing down and getting the ball to the frontmen quickly and making Spain uncomfortable. Brazil need to keep the tempo up though cos they can't afford to let Spain into the game.

Don't get how Spain are boring though, we'd all be creaming ourselves if Scotland could play like them.

Think Brazil will win but only because Spain are dead on their feet. Been a great experience for them and sets them up great for next year having now experienced playing tournament football in those conditions and that heat. Reckon Argentina are the only team who can stop them and the Brazilians will love that :greengrin.

As I was saying :wink::greengrin.

On the internet at least, the crowd/general ambient noise is drowning out the commentators, so all I hear of the tedious Lawro is an unintelligible rumble. Fine by me.

Before this game I've always rated David Villa as a much better player than Torres, and they're definitely missing him, but Torres is at least trying in this game. I think Arbeloa just isn't all that good, he gives the ball away far too often, and he plays on the side that Neymar seems to favour. Pedro has made plenty of mistakes as well, although it was a great save off the line from him by Luiz. Brazil are very worthy of their lead, they are getting in and about the Spanish midfield, but I would imagine Spain will definitely improve after half time. I would imagine they'll bring on Navas sometime, and possibly Fabrigas (unless he's injured, dunno if he is or not). They'll probably have to keep Torres on this time, even though they don't mind playing without a recognized centre forward. Can't see past a Brazil victory at the moment unless Spain score really early on in the 2nd half.

At the start of this thread when a few people said Brazil weren't up to the task I said this, and I stick by it. :greengrin

No way are Brazil rubbish! Some really nice football, great assist there for the 3rd. They won't be favourites for most people but I can see them winning the World Cup next year.

This is in a year remember, by then a lot of the young players will have had another year at the top level.

Think Brazil have only played about 10 games in the last 20 years at the Maracana. Could be wrong though.

If anything good comes off it, I doubt we'll see Arbeloa in a Spain shirt again. Thought Xavi was poor again. He's had a bad tournament IMO, don't know whats happened to him.
