Paul Hartley would be a popular choice but would cost compo. Yogi, Gus McPherson and Jimmy Calderwood would be free but unpopular. If Derek mcinnes was still free he may be the top choice. Peter Houston a strong shout. Jim Jeffries? Owen Coyle?

Though mainly they make it easy for them short term by diverting their funds away from youth teams and entirely on the first team.

Still, punch above their weight mostly eh.
Many good appointments who get the most out of their teams. Credit to the chairman IMO.

Lomas is the only one that Steve Brown has appointed. The previous ones were appointed by his old man. And part of the reason Lomas is buggering off so soon is that he and Steve Brown had a "difficult" relationship.

Was not sure if the son was in charge or not but the fact remains they seem to appoint well IMO and managers move on to bigger and better things usually, rather than needing to sack them.

They were desperate to get shot of Lomas. Not well like at the club at all because of a private legal matter.

Wouldn't be shocked if they went for Ian Murray. Can see an SPL side taking a calculated risk on him.

I heard this also - basically wanted to pay him off but couldn't afford it.

But now Milwall have come in - they are actually getting compensation for him!!

Makes keekback trolls look almost human, almost!!

I do think its a big gamble from Millwall considering Lomas started last season as favourite to get sacked, he has had one good season and any Manager will tell you its the second season where you will be found out to be as good as you appear or show your frailties, cant see him lasting under the pressure he will be under from the start after reading the fans views.

I'd imagine they will pick another cracking manager out of obscurity regardless! Motherwell also seem to have this same annoying habit, surely it's about time these clubs should have to suffer though a Calderwood!

Not for Lomas, last season was his first full season in charge and McInnes was the main factor the previous season and got into Europe the same way as Hibs did this season.

Great thread. Gives me the chance to post a photo. Can you spot the true Millwall fan ?

Clue. He's the one that wants no part of it.

Ahhh OK. Media just bigging him up as 2 Europes on the trot. So thanks for clarification :aok:

Would not be surprised if Tommy Wright (assistant) makes the step up.
